DesertBrise Travel - Begin your journey early in the morning from your riad or hotel in Marrakech, traveling through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass, which stands at 2260 meters. This is the highest road pass in Morocco and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains and valleys, with winding roads, stunning landscapes in various colors, and Berber villages along the route. Visit several kasbahs, including Tamnougalte and Ait Benhaddou. Ait Benhaddou, a 16th-century UNESCO site, is one of Morocco’s best-preserved and most spectacular kasbahs, and a popular location for Hollywood films. The journey continues through the palm-lined Draa River Valley, arriving in Zagora, the capital of dates. Then, proceed towards the gateway to the Sahara Desert, Mhamid, with Khalil. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a Nomadic standard camp.
Day 2: First Day Trek – M’Hamid – Ras Nekhal – Sidi Naji
M’Hamid - After breakfast at the camp, set off on foot from Mhamid, accompanied by a guide and a camel caravan. Hike through the Sahara Desert towards the Palm Grove. Tea and lunch will be served in the shade of Tamaris. After a rest, continue to the sanctuary of Sidi Naji. According to oral tradition, this marabout lived here 18 generations ago. It is a place rich in history and local customs. The bivouac will be set up at the foot of the sand dunes for the night.
Day 3: Sidi Naji - Erg Zahar
M’Hamid - As the sun rises, the bivouac is packed up. Depart towards “HNANISH,” crossing rocky plateaus. Lunch will be near a Tamarisk. In the late afternoon, set up the bivouac at “la Hananesh.” Spend the night in the Sahara Desert in a tent or under the stars.
Day 4: Day Trek Erg Zahar - Lhdibat
Marrakech - Enjoy trekking and lunch in the desert. Return to M’hamid by late afternoon via the sacred oasis. Spend the night with locals in the village or in a fixed bivouac.
