Ait Ben Haddou - Upon crossing the majestic High Atlas Mountains, the journey will lead to the fortified and stunning Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a popular filming location. A local guide will accompany the visit to the Kasbah, with an option to enjoy a delightful lunch there or in the nearby city of Ouarzazate.
Dades Gorges - Continuing the journey, the route will pass through the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” and the picturesque Valley of Roses. The highlight of the day will be an overnight stay in a traditional guesthouse, hosted by local Berbers in the beautiful Dades Gorge (Valley). This offers a chance to immerse in the local culture and experience the warmth of Berber hospitality.
DADES GORGES - TODRA GORGE - MERZOUGA DUNES
Todgha Gorge - After a delicious breakfast, the road leads to Todgha Gorges, passing through various villages. In Tinghir, a guide will meet and escort the group on a stroll through lush palm groves. A walk at Todra Gorges will reveal the grandeur of this natural wonder, a renowned spot for rock climbing enthusiasts. Traditional nomad families residing in the mountain tops can be observed as they come down to collect water.
Merzouga Desert - The tour continues to Erg Chebbi, the grand Sahara Desert, passing through Berber villages like Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud, the gateway to the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet. After a brief stop in Merzouga, a camel ride across the vast dunes of Merzouga for over an hour will offer a spectacular sunset view. The night will be spent in a traditional Berber camp under the stars, with the soothing sounds of drums and Berber singing. This is an opportunity to connect with nomads, gain insight into their lifestyle, and learn a few Berber songs.
BACK TO MARRAKECH
High Atlas Mountains - The return journey will traverse the Atlas Mountains, arriving back in the vibrant city of Marrakech by evening.
