- Marrakech - The full-day excursion to Essaouira from Marrakech begins at 8:00 am. The journey is a comfortable 3.5-hour drive (176 km) through breathtaking landscapes, where travelers can observe dromedaries, sheep, and goats grazing in the countryside.
The scenery transitions to ARGAN trees, which grow only in the wild and provide berries for local goats. Visitors have the option to stop for an ARGAN oil tasting at a small cooperative managed by local women, where they can witness the oil extraction process. There is also an opportunity to see the renowned Argan tree, where goats climb the low branches to feed. It’s not uncommon to see up to 20 goats perched in a single tree, offering a unique photo opportunity.

Loudaya - If the trip coincides with a Monday, there will be a stop to explore the weekly market in the town of Oudayas.
“Weekly markets” are a cultural heritage and hold significant importance in Morocco. Popular stories in Morocco highlight the weekly market day as a time for residents of a tribe or region to gather regularly to shop, sell goods, form alliances, finalize contracts, and resolve disputes in a festive atmosphere. The market is often named after the week, region, or tribe where it is held, with its location chosen based on demographic, social, and political factors. These markets, with their symbolic significance, continue to play a vital role in Moroccan social and economic life today, despite the prevalence of modern markets. -
Chichaoua - A brief stop along the way

Tafetachte - Located less than 30 kilometers from the destination, this area is known for its Argan trees. The road traverses highlands where these trees grow. Occasionally, goats can be seen in the trees, providing a great photo opportunity. They enjoy the fruits of the argan tree and climb with remarkable agility. They cling to the branches, settle there, and savor the fruit with ease, consuming only the pulp and discarding the kernel. Locals then collect the kernels, roast them, and press them to produce oil for personal use or sale.

A visit to one of the women’s cooperatives for argan oil is anticipated.

Essaouira - Upon arrival in Essaouira, travelers will have approximately 5 hours before returning to Marrakech. They can begin by exploring the old city of Essaouira, which boasts significant tourism potential due to its natural, historical, and cultural wealth, making it a prominent tourist destination. Its Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001, is a labyrinth of alleys dividing various districts and markets. Despite its complexity, the market is well-organized, offering a wide range of products. Clothing is intermingled with spices, necklaces, bracelets, and other items, followed by olives and other fruits and vegetables. Numerous restaurants serve fresh catches prepared in the morning for lunch or dinner, along with other traditional dishes. It’s delightful to relax on a terrace under the refreshing shade of trees.
-
Essaouira Beach - The beach is the first to greet visitors, stretching nearly six kilometers in length. It is popular with surfers who enjoy the strong waves, as well as visitors who wish to soak up the sun. The water remains relatively cold (averaging 18 degrees year-round), and the strong currents may deter swimming, favoring a more cultural, historical, and vibrant exploration of the city. The fishing port, adjacent to the beach, is easily recognizable by its blue boats and white cabins with blue shutters. The port gate serves as the meeting point for the return journey. The group will depart for Marrakech in the late afternoon around 4:30 pm, arriving in the “Red City” around 7:00 pm.
