Today’s route follows the Ziz River north, passing through the Tafilalet region, known for its lush date palms bordering the Sahara. Traverse the spectacular Ziz River gorge before crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains (at approximately 1900m). On the northern side of the mountains, experience part of Morocco’s vast cedar forests near Azrou, before arriving in Fes in the late afternoon.
