Today, the journey leads to the windy city, “Mogador.” Just before reaching Essaouira, visitors will encounter the “Argan culture” region. Here, there is an opportunity to visit a women’s cooperative dedicated to producing Argan oil, renowned for its culinary, cosmetic, and medicinal benefits. Arrival in Essaouira is expected around 11 am, marking the beginning of the city’s exploration.
Essaouira has been shaped by various civilizations, including the Portuguese, whose influence is evident in much of the architecture. Despite this, it remains a charming town steeped in history. Its compact size, distinctive blue doors, whitewashed walls, and coastal location have earned it the title of Morocco’s “Jewel of the Atlantic.” The visit includes the Mellah, the Jewish quarter, and the beach. Additionally, there is an annual “Gnawa music” festival. In the afternoon, the journey returns to Marrakech, concluding the day tour near the riad or at the Square Jemaa El Fna.
