Great way to get your first tastings of Marrakesh with a local guide - Omar is a very pleasant and knowledgeable gentleman he not only explained the type of food we would be eating but how it complimented what we would have with it. I could not eat all the food but found each and everyone very tasty

Food Tastings - Our tour guide was excellent taking us to street vendors that locals would visit. The tastings were all excellent and it was a lot of food. Our guide was knowledge about not the food but the culture. Our guide put in the extra effort and accommodated my daughter's dietary needs, as she is lactose intolerant. We were very full with large serving sizes. The main course was on a rooftop - with a view! It was a great night!

Taste Marrakesh Like the Locals. - Great tour.
Elhousain was fantastic. Very accommodating, took time to check likes and dislikes. Didn't feel rushed and had a chance to taste Marrakesh like the locals do.

Fabulous foodie tour around Marrakech! - A fabulous walking tour taking in the sights and tastes of Marrakech! It was just the two of us booked onto the tour and our guide was awesome - he spoke very good English, happily shared his knowledge with us and was great company as he took us from one great food experience to the next. We had a wonderful afternoon with him…but be prepared for a LOT of food!
Very enjoyable indeed and I would highly recommend both the tour and our guide.

10 exceptional tastes of Marrakesh and a brilliant guide. - First class Marrakech food adventure. We were taken to sample various local delights, in eateries tucked away in the non- tourist areas of the city. Awesome

Excellent guide with excellent food - Our guide Houssain was excellent and knew all of the best placed. He was well experienced in local cuisine and extremely friendly. He was great with our younger son finding foods he was sure he would like. We had a great time. Highly recommend this tour if you are headed to Marrakech.

Eat with the locals. - Our experience on the 10 Tastings of Marrakech Food Tour with Ismael was a terrific experience. Be prepared to get a full immersion in to how the locals eat for the next few hours. Every food stop we made was good and something that we had not eaten before. our guide took us to places where only locals would really know and that you might pass up if you were not on this tour. One or two items might test the less adventurous, but I’ll eat anything at least once. Everything was very tasty.
Ismael was very personable and in addition to talking about the food we also talked about the local culture and life in Marrakech.
I would highly recommend this tour. As a way to see a side of Marrakech that you might otherwise miss. Wear good walking shoes and show up hungry.

Street Food Tour - The itinerary suggests a mix of cultural visits and tastings at beautiful riads and places tourists miss. In reality, we struggled to keep up with our guide who marched ahead of us, not offering much information about our surroundings unless we asked questions. The food tastings were all street food, which was authentic but not what was shown on the itinerary. We didn’t visit any museums and our last stop, which was advertised as a tea tasting at Marrakesh’s most beautiful riad took place at an unappealing cafe on the main square (no delicious pastries provided). The guide was unaware that we were pescatarian but we had clearly marked it on our booking. The ten tastings were pastries, dates, olives, panache juice, sardine sandwich from a place next to the juice place, pancake, cheese and egg hot sandwich, veg tagine in main square, tea in a place 20m from the tagine place (so 9 tastings). The guide had been 30 minutes late due to parking issues - he called us to let us know, which was fine -so this possibly explained the marching at pace element but the tour ended at the original time, so it was 2.5 hours long, not 3 hours. I would mark this tour 5/10 and not as advertised.

Abusive communications from Withlocals rep - I need to review this in 2 parts.
Guide - 5 stars.
Withlocals/Viator/Tripadvisor - 0 stars
This was a trip booked for 3 people on 26/04/25 and cost a total of £166.
Our guide Elhoussaine was excellent. I cannot fault him at all. Very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about his job. I think the best part of this trip was the history we learned and not the food.
The food you try is not as advertised. The 10 tastings consisted of tea, soup, pancake, smoothie, meat skewers, yoghurt, pastries, doughnut, olives and another tea. No Tanjia, vegetable tanjia, dips/salads or dates.
I expressed my disappointment to Elhoussaine at the end of the tour. He was sympathetic and accommodating and offered me a 50% refund. This was acceptable to us. His customer service was exemplary. Once again I cannot fault him.
I am then contacted by Mehdi from Withlocals. We have a long conversation on WhatsApp where he attempts to negotiate the refund down. I refuse and he accepts he will refund me the 50% as promised. One week later no refund. I chase. Medhi confirms he has authorised it. Two weeks later no refund. Medhi will ‘look into it’. He then declines to even know me on What’s App. I realise I’m dealing with a child at this point. I contact Viator who initially authorises a refund. Then comes the barrage of abuse from Medhi (see attached) ‘So f*ck you and your refund’ ‘f*ck off’.
Absolutely unacceptable behaviour!
Viator declines my refund with no explanation.
I have since downloaded the entire WhatsApp conversation and sent to Viator and Tripadvisor. They have refunded me £45, not the 50% that was agreed. No apology for the disgusting, absusive language used by their representative.
My advice would be to book Elhoussaine direct on Marrakechtips +212 705-640119 and cut out this disgusting middle man but ensure you are well informed on what to expect from your tour. He does all kinds.
