Ait Ben Haddou - Following breakfast, guests will be picked up from their hotel in Marrakech. The journey begins with a drive through Ouarzazate over the Tizi-n-Tichka pass at 2260 meters, offering breathtaking views of the High Atlas Mountains. The next stop is the UNESCO World Heritage Site: the exotic Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, where lunch will be served.
Upon entering Ouarzazate, visitors can view the Atlas studios, home to some of the world’s largest movie studios, including those for “Lawrence of Arabia,” “The Mummy,” and “The Man Who Would Be King.” The journey continues past the Kasbah of Taourirt, then on to El Kelaa M’gouna (the Valley of Roses) and the Dadès Valley. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at a local hotel.
Dades Valley - Merzouga Via Todra Gorge:
Merzouga - Departing from Boumalene Dades, the route leads to Merzouga, passing through the Berber village of Tinghir and the Todra Gorge, where cliffs reach heights of 600 meters and are only 10 meters wide. The journey continues through several Berber villages, with a lunch stop at either Tinjdad or Rissani to try the local specialty, Berber pizza. After lunch, the trip proceeds to Merzouga to begin a camel trek. Unnecessary luggage can be safely stored at the hotel.
The 90-minute camel trek leads to a Berber camp nestled in the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, the tallest in North Africa. The camp features several comfortable Berber tents with mattresses and linens, a restaurant, a kitchen, and a toilet. The evening includes dinner and entertainment with Berber drums around the campfire.
Merzouga - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou
Ait Ben Haddou - Before sunrise, guests will be awakened to climb the sand dunes for excellent photo opportunities. The journey then returns to the hotel for showers and breakfast before continuing to Ouarzazate, passing through Alnif, Tazzarine, Nkob, and the Draa Valley. The night will be spent in a guest house in Ait Benhaddou.
