A MUST - This cooking class was a huuuge highlight of our trip to Morocco. (We also did the Baking class with Jhamila and it was just as incredible). From the very beginning, we felt welcomed like family - starting with hugs from the Chef to welcome us and a traditional mint tea while discussing the menu. The visit to the bustling souk to handpick fresh ingredients with our guide from the class was an eye-opening cultural experience in itself. She provided explanations about the meats and sourcing of vegetables. Back in the kitchen, Khmisa’s expertise as a chef with over 25 years of experience truly shone through. She shared her knowledge of Moroccan flavors and techniques with so much patience, passion, and humor. Kawtar was equally wonderful, helping to guide us and making communication seamless so we could focus on enjoying every step of the process. The atmosphere was warm, authentic, and joyful - it was more than just a cooking lesson, it felt like being welcomed into a Moroccan home. And the food? By far the best meal we had in Morocco. From starter to dessert, every dish was bursting with flavor, and we left not only with full stomachs but also with recipes and memories we’ll cherish and share with our family for years to come. If you’re in Marrakech and want an authentic experience that combines food, culture, and genuine hospitality, this class is an absolute must.

Delicious and felt very welcomed! - A wonderful cooking experience for people of all different cooking levels! Really enjoyed getting to know the other guests as we went through the experience together. Kawtar took us to the market to buy our ingredients. We the met Khmisa in their kitchen and was shown how to make proper mint tea- delicious! Khmisa was like our traditional mother/grandmother- nurturing as she guided us through the recipes. We made starters and and a chicken, lemon, olive tagine along with a vegetarian tajine. We ended with a dessert pastry, melon and strawberry yogurt. A delicious 3 course meal! Everything was so flavorful!

Our favorite Moroccan experience!!! - Chef Naima and her niece were amazing! A month later this experience still stands out as our favorite of Morocco. We have made Zaalouk twice since then thanks to this wonderful class. Chec Naima was incredibly kind to our children, welcoming, and inclusive to all in the class. She taught us to make the delicious Moroccan mint tea as well as a fabulous dinner. From shopping in the market to preparing and sharing the cooking experience, we loved it all and are so thankful to have had this experience !

Authentic Moroccon Culinary experience - Khmisa our chef met us at the agreed meeting point on time. We had the opportunity to roam the market and pick our produced. Khmisa's aunt was very welcoming and friendly. We were part of a group of 10 and included other young adults which was great for my son to see!! Khmisa explained the process and what we were doing every step of the way. We all got to equally participate in preparing our 3 course meal. The atmosphere from start to end was absolutely fantastic. Thank you for providing my son and I a memorable experience.

A fantastic experience that couldn’t be faulted. - We booked this course for our family of 5, with 3 teen boys aged 19. 17 and 13. The whole experience was fantastic, including selecting the food at the local market, learning how to ‘properly’ make morrocan mint tea (my thoughts of just steeping mint in boiled water and adding sugar were completely incorrect), making several morrocan salads/starters, making both vegetarian and chicken tagines, eating the delicious food we had prepared and then making and eating a traditional dessert. Kawtar provided much information during the class and we were able to purchase the spices (ground by Khmisa at home), orange blossom water and saffron that we had used for the recipes. The lunch was delicious and very, very filling. By far the best meal we have eaten so far in Marrakesh. Cooking in Khmisa’s incredible (air conditioned) property, and being taught by local women was a wonderful experience, thoroughly enjoyed by our whole family. I would strongly recommend.
