Walking Ourika with Its Most Authentic Son - Our experience in the Arika Valley was elevated beyond anything we expected thanks to our incredible guide, Abdullah Latif. A native Berber who has lived all 35 years of his life in the valley, he brought an unmatched level of authenticity and connection to every step of the journey. Knowing all 150 families in the village, and having been born, raised, and married there, he didn’t just guide us through the region — he introduced us to its living story. From walking us through local shops and scenic paths to the waterfalls and panoramic overlooks, Abdullah shared detailed insights about the land, the culture, and the significance of everything we saw. His knowledge of the region was remarkable, and his humor and warmth made the entire experience even more enjoyable and personal. Listening to stories about his family, hearing about his life in the village (donkey named Monica included), and ending the day with a wonderful lunch by the river made the tour feel genuine, immersive, and unforgettable. Abdullah Latif is, without question, the best guide in the Ourika Valley, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
