Hobbiton and Rotorua

Hobbiton Movie Set - Upon arrival at Hobbiton, guests will be guided through the scenic 1,250-acre sheep farm, offering breathtaking views of the Kaimai Ranges. A guide will accompany visitors through the site, sharing intriguing insights into the creation of the Hobbiton Movie Set.

The Hobbit holes, Green Dragon Inn, the Mill, and other structures were crafted for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films. Visitors can view these and witness how this stunning piece of Waikato farmland was transformed into The Shire from Middle-Earth, concluding with a complimentary drink at the Green Dragon Inn. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to explore the interior of one of the Hobbit Holes before the tour concludes.

Te Puia - The Te Puia guided tour includes visits to the Pohutu geyser, Art and Craft Institute, mud pools, Kiwi Conservation Centre, and other fascinating attractions. Following the tour, a buffet lunch is provided at Te Puia, with options labeled for any dietary needs.

Waiotapu and Taupo Tour

Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland - At Waiotapu, visitors can witness the Lady Knox Geyser. Waiotapu is renowned as one of New Zealand’s diverse and colorful geothermal parks. Guests can marvel at the numerous boiling hot springs and the vibrant colors surrounding them. This is a self-guided walk through the park.

Taupo - Taupo sightseeing includes a visit to the Huka Falls. In Taupo, a driver will guide guests to the lakefront and other notable attractions. The driver will tailor the day to suit guests’ interests, maximizing stops where possible. After exploring Taupo, guests will return to Rotorua for drop-off at their accommodation between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM.

Mitai Maori Village - Enjoy a cultural evening with a buffet dinner.

Polynesian Spa and Waitomo Caves return to Auckland

Polynesian Spa - The Polynesian Spa in Rotorua includes Lake Spa admission, which can be used on the evening of Day 2 or the morning of Day 3. A voucher will be provided at the end of the tour on Day 1.

Waitomo Caves - Please note, lunch is not included on this day. Guests are encouraged to eat before pickup.

From Rotorua, travel to the Waitomo Caves, famous for their thousands of glow-worms. Guests will walk into the caves and then travel a short distance on the underground river in a small boat, passing beneath a canopy of glittering glow-worms and learning about the caves’ historical and geological significance.

After this, guests will be transported back to Auckland, where the tour concludes.
