Exceptional - Grazie mille! We had some hiccups in the morning so I messaged the host/tour company that we would be 10min late, but ended up we couldn’t find the meeting point. When we were worried, the host’s colleague’s called me and used all means he had to locate us and to walk to the host. We really appreciated that! And we really appreciated our host’s guiding us through the tour and we learnt a lot about Matera through the tour. It was such an amazing experience!

Super recommended immersive tour! - We booked the guided tour via phone and they sent us all the useful info via WhatsApp, so fast and clear service. The visit lasted just over two and a half hours and touched the most important points of the city. Our guide Grazia, passionate and very prepared accompanied us with great attention, involving even the smallest of the group, and made us immerse ourselves in life among the stones from the historical point of view but also giving us pearls of general culture. Very informative tour of a magical place - Matera is a must see destination. And with such an unusual place you really should do a tour to learn about it. We loved our guide who took us through the main original sassi which is largely now just travel accomodation. We had a great history tour with time for photos . Obviously the sassi is a lower level than the city so there are many steps so you need some mobility , especially in the heat of summer. Very worthwhile tour

An excellent and enlightening tour. - A very worthwhile tour - interesting and informative. Patrizia was knowledgeable and explained things clearly. She also made sure we stood in the shade while she was speaking. There are many steps around Sassi (old Matera) so this tour is not good for those who have limited mobility. I would not want to explore without a tour - you would miss so much. Also, it’s quite a maze of steps and pathways.

The importance of correct pronuciation - The guide spoke English with an Italian accent with the emphasis sometimes on the wrong syllabe. Because english is also a second language for me, it was difficult to follow. I didn't recognize her English words. She spoke quickly and it were series of dates and history. I did my best to understand and asked her to speak slowly. She really tried in the beginning but she couldn't keep it up. I didn't want to ask it again because a big part of the group where native English speakers from Australia and New Zealand and I think they could understand her well. I've dropped out. This holiday I got more guided tours in English in Italy which I could follow well. It depends of the correct pronuciation and intonation of English and wether its more narrative.

Tour cancelled by them 5 minutes before agreed time - I booked by phone a guided tour for me and my family at 6pm on 30/06. Telephone very kind and helpful to also provide directions on parking. The day of the visit from Morning I start getting weird phone calls And whatsapp to “confirm” the visit. At 3pm they contacted me again to tell me that the guide was in trouble and they would have preferred to bring the visit forward to 5pm. I feel that it is not possible for us and I am willing to change the date or wait for directions, Mrs on the phone tells me that at this point it was not a problem and that the guide would be organized to keep the agreed time. At 17.45 while we parked the car (scheduled meeting time at 17.50) they call me and They tell me that the visit is canceled and that if I want I can do a different tour (Murgia Park, at 6.30 pm), I reply that we are not interested and that they were not correct to notify us 5 minutes before, they put down the phone without saying goodbye or apologizing. Bad experience
