Best guided tour in our 3 weeks in Italy - Giuseppe was our guide for a 3 hour walk through Matera. Much to our surprise and delight, the terrain on this tour was relatively flat compared to the up and down that we anticipated. Giuseppe did a fantastic job of conveying what life was like in the sassi as well as the history. He was very easy to get along with and his english was perfect (forget about my non existant Italian). If you can swing it, the private tour is great as the group tours that you see all around town are quite large.

Excellent! - Already the city is lovely.... if you also have two excellent guides (Giusy among the stones and Francesco for the part of the Murgia) that make you live 360 degrees this charm.... you leave your heart. Highly recommended for professionalism punctuality and content!

Nice ride among the stones - Nice and prepared guide, very pleasant ride among the stones. having already done a few years another excursion with another tour operator, I must say that this was less engaging, more technical at times a bit boring.

Avoid This Tour And Tour Company At All Costs - This was a joke. I booked a 3 hour tour with a maximum of 12 people with entry fees into 3 sites. Our tour lasted just over 2 hours; there was 39 people on the tour; and we only went into one site. When I saw the number of people for the tour, I went to the organizer and said it was only supposed to have a maximum of 12 people. The guy just shrugged and waved me away. When I asked why it was only going to be just over 2 hours (as opposed to 3 hours), they said it was because one of the sites that we were supposed to see (with paid tickets for entry as part of the tour price) was closed that day. No offer of refund or an alternate site was offered. These guys have now changed the description of the tour on Viator, but I wouldn't trust them for any tour that they offered. The name of the company is Martulii Viaggi.
