perfect way to spend a full day exploring Maui! highly recommend!! - A full day of exploring all the various sight seeing locations on the road to Hana and back! the trip was extremely comfortable even for our 5 year old (i think this was also because our tour guide, Charleston, was very entertaining and fun to be around, so our son was on really good behaviour the whole day!!) the journey was full of beautiful sights along the way and many rest spots. We had some rain on the route which is likely expected for a tropical island - the car was equipped with umbrellas for the brief moments we needed them. Our guide was Charleston who was extremely friendly and fun to be with the whole day and most importantly a very experienced driver! these twisty narrow roads would be challenging for most people. Charleston was also highly educated in agriculture and shared a lot of information about various plants and flowers that we encountered along the way. It was fascinating to learn about the changes to vegetation and how they also impacted the climate conditions on the island. So, if you’re looking to get a very thorough look at Maui - the forests, waterfalls , bridges, black sand beach, cliffs, stunning views, the changing landscapes along the way, and treats like coconut and banana bread, in a safe and comfortable ride, then this is the tour for you! And ask for Charleston to be your tour guide!

Excellent Road to Hana Tour - Five stars all the way. Our Road to Hana tour with Spencer was fantastic. Spencer is a local native and it really showed. He took us to all the best spots and shared so much knowledge about the history, culture, and nature along the way. A lot of what he told us you would never pick up from a guidebook or on your own. The drive was smooth and comfortable the whole way. He handled the road perfectly, so we could just relax and enjoy the views. He was also very flexible and adjusted stops based on what our group wanted and how the day was going. On top of that, Spencer is super chill and easy to talk to. The whole day felt like we were out exploring with a knowledgeable local friend instead of just another tour. We left feeling like we really experienced the real Maui. If you’re thinking about the Road to Hana, book with Spencer. You won’t be disappointed.

Stress free and fun!!! - Exceptional tour!!! We loved the personal feel that you don’t get with the larger tour companies and felt more immersed in the local culture. This took the stress out of driving so we could enjoy it. Our tour guide Mark was fabulous and and would for sure request him the next time we come back to Maui!!!

Epic sights, local spirit, and flexible itinerary - We booked an incredible full day tour for 4 adults and 2 children. Mark started communicating with us a couple of days before our tour. He offered to answer any questions we may have, gave some suggestions on what to bring and coordinated our pick up time for the tour date since they picked us up at the condo we were renting. The expedition was very comfortable and the huge sunroof added to the views. Mark arrived early, which we appreciated. We loaded up all of our gear and started our journey. He began by learning a little about us to help tailor our day and sharing stories of Maui. He did an excellent job of checking in with us, staying flexible to ensure our expectations were met. We got to do everything we wanted and more we didn't know to ask for: epic overlooks, banana bread, saw the lava tube and swam at black sand beach, grabbed food truck lunch and enjoyed a picnic by the ocean, swam in a waterfall, and caught a sunset filled with surfers while we marveled at 50 sea turtles hanging on the beach for their bedtime. His knowledge of the island, Hawaiian history, the flora, fauna, and local community added a significant depth to our day which we will never forget. We hired a guide and a driver and we left with a friend on Maui. My 4 year said he was the BEST DRIVER EVER!

Amazing day! - After lots of research, we choose Hawaii By Storm to show us the famous Road to Hana. Best decision! The company was very professional and kept in touch prior as to where to meet. Top of the line luxury cars. We had two private cars booked this day for our large group. Spencer and Blaze were our guides. Both men were amazing. Spencer was my family’s car driver / guide for the day and I can’t say enough about him. He was so knowledgeable of the island. He was matched perfectly for our group (early 20’s to late 50’s). We laughed all day while seeing amazing sites. We had some periods of rain and he planned stops according. He was able to read the energy of the car and brought us to an amazing swimming waterfall without hesitation during the rain to be sure it would not be missed. He ensured our group had a safe and unforgettable experience. Even with the rain our day allowed for stops at: * Waiʻānapana State Park: Black Sand Beach *Hanna Farms: Amazing pizza! *Ko’olau Forest Reserve *shaved ice at “Halfway to Hana”which our family opinion is that it far surpasses the Ululani’s chain. *rainbow eucalyptus trees *plus many more! Spencer, thank you again for such a wonderful day! Wishing you and your family an amazing life! ❤️ Debbi, Ron, Marly & Lex

THE Best of the Best - This was my and I’s second time doing the Road to Hana, however, the first with our kids. The first time we drove ourselves and it was our favorite thing we did while on Maui. With all the recent flooding, I wanted to hire a local guide for multiple reasons. First, to support a local small business. Second to have a local guide that would take us only to the places that were welcoming tourists so that we could be respectful to any and all recovery efforts. I could not by more happy we hired Hawaii By Storm. Both Sean (the owner) and Spencer (our guide) reached out the day before our tour with very clear communication. Spencer was waiting outside our lobby on the morning of the tour just as communicated. The Bronco was in immaculate condition and such a nice vehicle. I could go on forever about how great Spencer was with my family. We stopped at Ho’okipa Beach Park to see the sea turtles, the Ke'anae Peninsula to visit Aunt Sandy’s, Pua'a Kaa State Wayside Park to swim in waterfalls, Hana Farms for THE BEST pizza, Wai’anapanapa state Park to see the black sand beach, among other stops along the way. We then finished the trip off by dropping the top in the Bronco and making our way around the “back side” which in my opinion is the real star of the show. I felt very comfortable driving The Road to Hana when we did it several years ago. But let me assure you the knowledge and view point you receive from a local guide is SO much more than just driving this road yourself. It allows you to become immersed in and learn about the Hawaiian culture rather than seeing it from a tourists point of view. You are not just hopping on and off a tour bus with Hawaii By Storm. You’re also able to learn about things on the fly that may not be included on any prerecorded self driving tour. It is 100% your own tour. Both educational and Instagram worthy. The Road to Hana the way YOU want it to be done with a guide who is calling you by name and learning about you throughout the day also. I left with Spencer having become part of our O’hana and not just a memorable tour guide. Maholo Spencer and Hawaii by Storm for making this the best day of our Hawaiian vacation. We hope to see you again soon. P.S. While I mention how stunning the back side of Hana is….DO NOT attempt to drive this as a tourist. Despite how comfortable I felt driving to Hana and back myself, the back side should be left to a local professional while you take in all its beauty. You will not catch me driving either side after this amazing experience.

Best Day of Vacay! - The day spent doing the Road to Hana with our guide, Mark, was my family's favorite day of our vacation. He knew the ins and outs of the entire trip and shared Hawaiian history and stories with us. He took the time to get to know the kids and made the day enjoyable for everyone. We were all a little sad when he dropped us off at the end of the day. We could have driven the road on our own, but we were glad to have Mark join us and be our personal guide for the day.

Amazing time with Dustyn! - Our family of 4 (me, hubby, two daughters ages 10 and 18) went out today on the Road to Hana with Dustyn, and we had the best time! From swimming in waterfalls to amazing pictures, to some insanely good banana bread and lunch, this trip had everything. But the best part was how laid back and at ease it was to chat with Dustyn, his stories and knowledge of the island, and just his chill demeanor. The whole fam had the best day! Highly recommend! For anyone booking: the guides will tell you everything you need, but we were glad to have water shoes, swimsuits and less drowsy Dramamine for sure! The sit back and enjoy your amazing time!

The best! - Absolutely great day with an outstanding tour guide Mark. He knew all the spots and it was great to hear him "talk story" about Maui, the land, and the culture. Learned a lot and had a great time too. He was also great to point out local coffee stands (Maui Sunrise), ice cream (Coconut Glen's Ice Cream), Uncle Russell's, and Kailani's Gift Shop with really cool handmade items. Would definitely do it again and highly recommend it to everyone!
