Beautiful - Stunning sunrise! The cold and the early morning were 100% worth it. Everett, our bus driver, was so kind and knowledgeable. The bike ride down was an added plus.

Best way to kick start our quick Maui vacation - We did the stargazing and sunrise plus biking with Maui Mountain Riders this AM. Definitely worth it. Loved that we were given fleece ponchos at the top even though being from CO we were prepared for the cold with hats, gloves and jackets. Standing up there watching stars for approx. an hour it did get brisk. Be prepared. Biking down from 6500 ft was so much fun and that we got to do the section 2x then a brief stop in town for a bite and a 5 mile bike ride back to their office was excellent adventure for this family of four. We only arrived from Denver yesterday and our 21 & 20 yr old were not exactly thrilled to get up at 2am to be at the office by 2:50am but the stargazing was fantastic, made it worth it. We had completely clear skies. Seeing Uranus, the Big Dipper and so many stars at 9.072 ft crater was excellent. The bikes do not have gears but you basically need to be comfortable riding the brakes or not. I know we topped out over 30mph at points. Charlotte our guide aided us on the first trip stopping a few times to make sure the group of 6 riders was comfortable. Then the 2nd trek we were cut loose. There are a few hair pin turns which need to be taken more cautiously but basically you can bomb down as long as you are safely in control and watching out for the random adorable cow and car on the descent. A great time was had by all of us. The chanting by native Hawaiians as the sun rose over the crater was so special prior to our ride down. I would do this again and recommend it to friends visiting Maui.

Worth Braving the cold. - When they say “Dress warm”, it’s no Joke. 37, feels like 29 is for real. The rest is a blast and it’s Maui, gets real warm after the sun is up. Mahalo from Colorado Brad, Joe and Noni.

Magical and memorable- will do this again!!! - Fantastic does not describe this. It was way beyond fantastic. People, remember, you’re going almost to 10,000 feet. It will be cold and windy. Dress for winter! Being from Colorado and having done winter camping before, we were prepared. But …. So sorry for the warm weather friends that did not heed the prep advice.
The tour company was beyond super. We passed other tour companies on our ride and, there was some disorganization and some challenges they were facing, and we just kept on riding.
Our group size was smaller than the others and I couldn’t have been more thankful for that. Our two guides were knowledgeable and friendly and so easy to get along with. I wish I had more time because I would’ve taken them out to lunch and enjoyed an afternoon with them. They were just super people!!
Because our group size was smaller, we had to join with another tour company to get up to the top of the mountain for the sunrise experience. I did not expect that and at first I was a little miffed or slightly disappointed. However, the proof is in The outstanding overall experience that we had.The other tour company guides and accommodations were great. I would not of wanted to do this trip any other way.
Highly highly highly recommend this tour company!!!

Fun experience for families! - This was a fun experience! We had a clear night and seeing the stars before sunrise was great as well! It was cold and you do stand for quite awhile so be prepared. The bike ride down was a highlight of our trip! Everything was well organized and I would book through the your company again!

Sunrise was beautiful,... - Sunrise was beautiful, Abe had great insite and told Hawaiian legends on the ride up. Heed the cold warning.
Biking was a blast. We were allowed 40 minutes in town. Skip the breakfast, grab a pastry. Had we known the tour was almost over we could have explored the little shops.

Worth the early wake up! - Fun trip! The trip up the mountain in the shuttle bus was cool. Alex the driver was a lot of fun with his Hawaiian stories. The sunrise was neat to see. The ride down was exhilarating! Very fast! The bikes could use a little T-L-C.

Great early morning adventure - Despite the middle of the night wake up and cold temperatures at the summit, Mountain Riders provided a great experience. We were lucky there was no wind at the top and the sunrise was beautiful.
We rode down a little ways to outside the park where we mounted our bikes for a fun, fast downhill doing 2 loops then stopping in Makawao for coffee and snacks. From there we rode downhill the rest of the way t where we had parked our cars.
Our guide was knowledable about the area and helped us be safe.

Zero - Started out being schooled for being early. Showed up 20 minutes early. Ended up at sunrise. We waited almost 2 1/2 hours. Didn’t need to get there that early. The staff was OK. The bike ride was a total disaster started with how we’re at our own risk we signed up for this And how people die on this not what I wanna hear before I go down the hill the operator ended up telling us that we go as fast as our way. Ended up putting my husband in front and had to break because the operator was too close and he merely touched. The middle line was put on a timeout in front of his whole family. By the way we did this for his 60th birthday as a bucket list. There were only the five of us he also kept telling my children and everybody they could go past him and go out on their own. They wanna go faster I must’ve told him six times we are going to stay together yet. He kept on going put my husband on a timeout back in the van. He never got back on a bike for me. I was told I was going too slow. If I didn’t go at least 30 mph they would get a ticket and I shouldn’t break the entire way down. It’s up for me on the terms by the way the speed limit and a lot of the places was 15 miles an hour. He told me I was going 15 to 20 but I needed to go 30 he made me very uncomfortable. This was an awful experience for $1500. I couldn’t give a zero but I would’ve for this gentleman he does not belong with people kept telling us how he cut his brakes on his bike and doesn’t use brakes. What an egomaniac.
