Beautiful views, nice horses - We had a great trail ride this morning with Selena and Richard! It’s a pretty slow ride, nose to tail, so it’s good for riders of all experiences. There’s a chance to run your horse if you like.

The people are friendly... - The people are friendly and very helpful. Great views. The falls are very pretty, they are at a distance. They do allow you to run your horse when its safe to do so and only if you want to. They will ask you if you want to and they will tell you when you can. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

Wonderful! - Such a wonderful time Richard was so sweet! It was my birthday, I was traveling alone and it was made so special. I got to ride Buck, the sweetest boy! If you are beginner or expert it is an experience you will not forget!

This city girl rode a... - This city girl rode a horse! At first I was terrified, well, I was scared most of the trip (😂) but the guides were helpful and kept me close. I really appreciated that! They were very accommodating, and great to see the comfort and care they put into the horses. The horses were very sweet and you can tell they had a connection with them.

Maui Horseback Riding - The horses were well taken care of and overall well behaved. The trail was pretty, even with a little rainfall during the ride. The guides were attentive and friendly. They did a nice job managing the group.

Trail ride - We thought this experience was okay. We had a few more expectations of what this would be, basically it’s a trail ride to a waterfall that is very far away. I expected to be closer to the waterfall, it basically doesn’t even appear in the photos. We didn’t ride to the ocean, just saw it from the trail, far away. So riding a horse was fun, but not quite what we expected.

Guides Rock—Yet I Was Bruised, but Not Broken - Let me start by giving 5 stars to the three guides who led our tour—Jesse, Indy, and Jarvis. They brought the overall average up. The experience itself started poorly as the wrong meeting address is provided in the details posted on TripAdvisor, as well as in the confirmation of booking. The address is a private residence with no trespassing signs clearly posted. Seeing no other signage at that address, we pulled into the small yard and the meeting time came and went, and no one came to meet us. I called the contact number and was informed that I was at the wrong place. The meeting place was 500 yards up the road at a pull off spot with a yellow banner. As we pulled out, the owner of the property stood on his porch filming us with his phone. Through our window, we expressed our apologies and he told us that he has been complaining about this error for quite some time and neither the business or TripAdvisor has done anything to correct it. The fact that we were exposed to legal risk by trespassing did not put me in a positive frame of mind. If you book this tour, confirm the address. Once we met at the right spot, we were led up the mountain to the ranch. The “road” to the ranch is not paved; had I known we were off-roading, I would not have rented a convertible. If you book this tour, rent an SUV. The ride and the views were spectacular. Because of the wet weather, we weren’t taken by any waterfalls for safety reasons. Perfectly acceptable, but why not let your guests know the night before that the name of the tour does not fully apply on this occasion. If you book this tour, confirm waterfalls if that’s important to you. Finally, when you mount your horse, confirm with the handlers that your saddle is fully cinched. I say this because on the ascent back from the ocean bluff to the ranch, my saddle started to slide to the left with me in it. Gravity did the rest as I slowly rotated from head pointed at 12 to head pointed at 9. At this juncture, I had to let go and fell about 3 feet onto my left shoulder and scapula. These are smart living beings and if you had to haul a stranger on your back with a corset on, you might expand your belly while being strapped to give yourself some breathing room. My guides rallied to my side to make sure I wasn’t hurt. As a doctor, I was fully aware that nothing was broken, but I also knew that I would feel it later. I was sore and stiff for the next 36 hours, but it didn’t keep me from playing tag with the surf or getting a new tattoo on my last day on the island. In short, we got great pictures and enjoyed the ride. It’s worth the adventure, but lacked attention to detail, thoughtful communication, and waterfalls. It will also be a memory as my last time on a horse tour.
