Better late than never. - I booked this luau on the day we arrived. I underestimated the drive from Wailea, where we stayed, to Lahaina. We were running late. Got a phone call from them checking in if we are on our way, which is nice. When we arrived at the Westin, they were lacking signage where to go. Hotel staffed are kind enough to point out the direction though.
Wailele Luau staff greeted us at the entrance despite being late. They put kukui nut lei on us and seated us. Once settled, a wait staff introduced himself and took our drink orders. We enjoyed all the performances, most specially the fire dance! During breaks, we walked around by the beach, took pictures, browse around the vendors on site. Great experience. Highly recommended!

Good Food!! Nice Experience! - The dancing was amazing. Fire knife performance was the best we have ever seen. We learned a lot about Hawaiian culture. Nice buffet. Got to try different native foods. We like the opportunity to purchase some locally made items as well. Mahalo!!!

Good experience and food - The beginning of the luau started out really slow with no performance until about the last 40 minutes. We wish there would have been performances during the dinner, not just after.
The buffet was full of great food, and we loved everything we ate. The drinks were plentiful and very good.
The actual dances were short, but good. The highlight was the fire dance at the end. Those guys were amazing!!

Fun and interesting show. - This was a fun activity. A little on the pricey side, but all luau‘s are. I would say that you are mostly paying for the open bar. Staff were friendly and the show was well done and interesting. The food was OK. This is a buffet. If you have food sensitivities or allergies, you can speak to your Server who can communicate with the chef to make accommodations or special Platings. When I booked, I was told that the only difference for the upgraded seating was that it was the first few rows. However, the premium seating is center stage whereas the family style seating is off to the side of the stage. We still had a good view and saw the whole show, but if you want to be front and center, you might want to pay the few extra dollars to make sure you are in the premium seats. We heard the premium seats also got some appetizers, but there was plenty of food and variety that you really did not need appetizers.

Poor experience - Food was tasteless with exception of the ahi poke. The performance was not as I was expected from the price I paid. This is my fourth Luau. What a disappointment! Checking was at 4:30pm with some activities for children and families running in the garden. The whole Luau ended at 6:30pm. Don’t waste your time and money. Do something else in the island.

Skip this Luau & Save the Money! - Mediocre experience at a high price. The luau was fine at best. I’ve heard this luau from the outside several times and decided to take my niece (10) and daughter (12) this trip. We were excited to see the show but overall left feeling like the show is over hyped.
Cons:
Luau is 3 hours but the entire first half of the “show” is basically nothing and the performances primarily happened at the very end (last 35ish minutes of the luau). The luau is marketed as the “most spectacular knife fire show on maui” if this is indeed, the case, thats sad because I can’t see the average person reasonably describing this show as spectacular. Overall, I would not recommend the show and would not consider going again. I can think of many better ways to spend $400 in Maui. (And that was after 20% promo discount during April but even at a discount we felt underwhelmed)
Food was bland at a complete let down, even the kids thought it “tasted like nothing”
Drinks were cheap and gross. I understand it’s open bar, but I would rather have a better quality drink and have had two great drinks, then a bunch of crappy drinks
Speaker was broken and you could barely hear the show and music. Speaker kept going in and out during the height of the show which added to the lackluster vibe.
Pros:
The staff working the luau were all friendly (compared to most Westin Maui Resort & Spa staff who typically seem miserable and lack basic customer service/friendliness/hospitality which we love the location/pool/property but the staff level of service/hospitality basic friendliness or lack thereof consistently underwhelm).
Photographer on site to capture a family photo is a nice feature.
Fresh orchid leis were nice but at $$$ this is expected.
The 2 main guy dancers at the end performances seemed invested, and like they genuinely wanted to entertain people, whereas most of the other performers seemed distracted and just going through the motions.

A dance show NOT a fire and knife show - Worst use of vacation time (and money) - beyond boring if you’re looking for a “fire and knife show.” If you want to a dance recital to slow music in a commercial setting with 8 minutes of “excitement” at then end, this is your show! Just fire. No knife (other than someone handing off a knife?). And about 30 minutes of birthdays, anniversaries, newlyweds, clapping for the bartenders, clapping for the chefs …
We’ve been to several luaus on various islands. This had the best food and service but the most boring show.
