Freshwater caves and lava tubes are also here, where you can explore volcanic caves. If you’re lucky, you might witness the legend of the caves come alive, as red shrimp appear at certain times of the year, turning the water red. Let the tour guides share the legend of Princess Popoalaea.
- Wailua Falls - Wailua Falls.
- Pua’a Ka’a State Park - The waterfall is easily accessible from here. Some visitors enjoy taking a dip in the chilly waters by the waterfall on a hot day. Wear layered swimwear and bring a change of clothes. Don’t forget the towels.
