The Semi-private class is a smaller more intimate way to learn surfing. This class will only be your party with your own surf coach, no other surfers will be added to the group….

This is great for families or couples wanting a more intimate surf session. We also recommend this for smaller kids who may not want to be in a group with other adults. You and your group will catch more waves and have personal attention from your very own surf coach.

Surf Lesson - Surf Club Maui was fun and a great time! My wife and I never surfed before but our instructor, Brian, did a great job helping us learn. We were able to get up pretty easily and surfed multiple waves! Would recommend Surf Club Maui to anyone looking to learn how to surf!

Highly recommend this surf lesson. - Great experience! Instructor Brian , I believe, was awesome and we got up and surfed a lot. Everything was provided which was a tremendous help since we are from Nashville.

Great surf lessons for all - I’ve always wanted to learn how to surf and surf club Maui was a perfect place to learn. I had a great instructor Epp he really helped me learn how to fix my mistakes and get to my full potential. Within 2 lessons I was able to rent a board myself and surf on my own. The photographer Kai took some amazing photos from in the water that were very cool to see afterwards. You could really tell everyone here knew what they were doing and have been surfing/taking photos for a long time. Epps great coaching even allowed my mom and dad to learn how to surf which was cool. Overall 11 out of 10 experience would recommend anyone coming to Maui old or young great time and fun for everyone.

Couldn't have been better! - Eps Seargent was an awesome instructor - he was kind, patient, clear and had the lesson streamlined perfectly for us. My daughter and I were both brand new beginners at surfing, and with his amazing instruction, we were both up on the surfboard our first wave. Another more experienced surfer jumped in our lesson and Seargent guided him amazingly for his level. I couldn't have expected a better surf experience. We also saw about 10 turtles and we gave the ocean a blessing. I wish I had taken the up opportunity to have photos done. I opted out ahead of time - b/c I didn't think I was even going to get up on the board. Under Seargent's guidance, I bet you'll have a great time and get up on a ton of waves too! You should do it, and the photos.

Great first time family surfing! - We booked a semi private lesson for four of us (my nine year old son, me, my wife, and my dad) and had an awesome first time surfing. Our instructor was Epes (aka Sarge), and he was so patient with us first timers, especially my son, who was very wary of standing on the board and falling off. Two of us were able to stand and ride a handful of waves, and the other two got comfortable with knee surfing, and trying a few meditation poses as well. The water is very shallow (maximum of 3 feet), and the waves are very mild and easy-going, so really the only danger is falling on rocks in the shallow water. The water shoes they provided were key! Bonus was seeing about six turtles in the two hour lesson - some swam right under our surfboards! Photographer from the same company took photos from the water that are available for purchase afterwards. We bought the sideshow they showed us for an additional $100, and are very happy with the high-quality photos, which were air dropped to us right away.

Great day!! RAD waves! - Easy to book! On time!! Great photos!!! And taught for the student at their level!! Was a little hard to find but we loved the experience!!!

Great Surf School - Suzy and her team are excellent. Flexible, friendly and really good at what they do. Our whole family learned to get up the first day, but we had so much fun we just kept coming back. Shout out to our awesome instructor, Turtle, who is patient & kind and our honorary instructor Eps, who treated us like family. Both are safety conscious, fun and you can tell, well respected by other members of the Kihei surfing community. 🤙

Surfing with Turtle! - We had 2 semi-private surf lessons with Turtle. He was a great instructor and we caught so many waves on both days! By the end of the lesson, my kids were doing tricks and catching waves on their own! I highly recommend doing a private or semi-private as you’re going to get that one-on-one instruction and be able to catch the most waves!

Premiere Family Surf Experience - This was the best possible experience for getting into surfing for the first time. Maui Surf Club was engaging and helpful from the start. My son and I were introduced to Antonia as our instructor. Antonia would be the reason we would return to Maui Surf Club when next we visit the island of Maui. Antonia saw to my needs and gave instructions where she saw i needed. This helped greatly. Even more so Antonia was lovely with my 7 yr old son. She provided him with more than adequate instruction but more importantly saw to it that he had a great time. Antonia took the time to see to any needs he had that came up and even gave him her rash guard when he became chilly halfway through the lesson.

Excellent teachers!!! - Roque was a great teacher! He was caring, funny, very thorough, and vigilant for our safety. We got up on our first wave and enjoyed two hours of surfing. The whole team including staff and photographer were so professional and fun. The photographer was cool about one of us not wanting to be photographed and we bought the other, awesome, action photos. We are so lucky that we happened to be just walking by at Kalama at the right time and saw your truck and met Matthew. Thank you so much for a great experience. We would do it again and will recommend your school.
