Amazing trip to take - We took this tour while at port on The Pride Of American. It was great because the pick up and drop off was at the Port, so no Ubers or taxis. Abe was our tour guide, he kindly dispensed ginger chews to prevent potential car sickness from the winding roads leading to the summit. Once there, the tour company provides each person a fleece lined poncho to wear to protect from the wind and cold. ( It was pretty darn cold!) As the sun rose up, the locals chanted a greeting to the sun, which was amazing. Abe did an great job filling the time with history and knowledge of his island. We had several bathroom breaks. Breakfast at the plantation restaurant was extremely generous. We all had the macadamia nut pancakes, and we loved them.

Sunrise - Gets very cold but Jeff gave us fleece blankets which helped a lot. He was also very informative and yet allowed us to sleep on the way there.

Volcano Sunrise Tour - it was a very early start and the guides made it interesting. They were funny and knowledgeable about everything and everyone. It rained that morning so we unfortunately did not get a sunrise opportunity. However, they wrapped us up like burritos to make it much less miserable to be out in that rain. My appreciation to whoever thought of that!!!!. Breakfast afterwards was delicious. Would definitely do it again.

Great guides - Brad and Hawaiian David were wonderful even if the weather was terrible!No sun in sight 😩.Breakfast was very good.I imagine it beautiful up there with favorable weather conditions.

It was very windy and... - It was very windy and cold at the top of the mountain but, we were given fleece lined ponchos that saved the day. The views were incredible and the breakfast was at a farm and was a great addition to the day

Sunrise excursion. - Had a great excursion. Really appreciated the insulated hooded parkas. Or drive and guide, Abe was terrific. Meal at the plantation was delicious. Would recommend to anyone. Communication about pickup point was handled in a professional manner.

Rafa - Excellent excursion! What a spectacular display of Mother Nature! The tour operators are very informative and very helpful. The breakfast with the excursion was in a beautiful plantation, breakfast was very good and the tour operators got it to a very efficient manner for us to be seated and served. In summary excellent excursion and Viator knows how to do it.

Once in a lifetime experience! - The Halakalea sunrise tour was absolutely unforgettable! Watching the sun rise over the crater and clouds was a breathtaking experience, truly one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever witnessed. Our tour guide, Billy, was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable. He even provided windbreaker ponchos, which were a lifesaver in the cold, windy weather at 10,000 feet. The entire experience was incredibly well organized, and to top it all off, the breakfast afterward was delicious. Warm, hearty, and the perfect way to end such an amazing morning. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. It's a must-do! We traveled as a family of 12.

Great Experience - The view up Haleakala was absolutely breathtaking and the team was awesome. There was a fire on one of the buildings on the Haleaka route and they were redirecting traffic, but our driver was awesome and got us to the top of the mountain in time. They also gave parkas to fight the cold windy weather, which was great. The breakfast and its location was nice too.
