Excellent tour- good for POA passengers - Really awesome experience. To be honest we were very lucky. Everett was a solid driver and very safe. Also taught us a lot about the island and the culture, he was born and raised on the island. Pickup was right at 315 as promised. The van was sufficiently comfortable. Getting to the crater early is really important if you want to get a good spot. Definitely bring something warm to wear. The ponchos they provide are nice but if you’re not sufficiently dressed it’s cold. Views are spectacular if the weather is good and you start to get amazing views about 20 min before sunrise. If the night is clear you will see the Milky Way and get some beautiful photo ops if the moon is right. This was well suited to passengers on POA. You get back by 1030 or so.

Sunrise spectacular - Fantastic trip. Really cold be prepared. Everett was our guide provided us with tons of information about Hawaii and the legends. Picked up promptly from cruise ship and dropped us off there as well. Provided us warm ponchos which we really needed. Great experience highly recommend. Lucked out with weather and had amazing photos of the spectacular sunrise.

Sunrise Tour - Our driver, Abe, was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He also provided fleece lined ponchos that were fantastic and made the cold much more bearable

Great morning - it can be cold - It was an early morning with a small group but a great experience. // Billie positioned us in the very best protected area and provided us with insulated capes which were definitely needed to protect us from the cold wind. On the drive down, he shared information on the spectacular views. // Tips for others - assume it is windy and cold (30-40 F). Bring winter-ish clothing - warm gloves, toque, winter (or puffy) coat, heavy socks, consider thin long underwear.

Sunrise above the clouds - WOW! An early morning pickup that had us in position at the top of the mountain in time for an added bonus of stargazing…. Our driver provided each passenger a wind resistant poncho and hand warmers that were much appreciated ! Being above the clouds for sunrise was a breathtaking view that had us snapping pictures that were changing by the moment. We would do it again in a heartbeat!!

Dress for the cold at 9,740 ft. - Clouds blew in as we waited for sunrise, so it was more of a "brightening behind the clouds and mist" experience, but the tour guides can't control the weather so still 5/5. Abe did a fantastic job making sure people had water and ginger candy for any potential motion sickness, and got us to the summit bright and early, ahead of other groups, for the best viewing spots. On the way back we made an impromptu warm-up stop for coffee. This tour does provide guests with a fleece-lined, hooded windbreaker poncho to use, but plan accordingly and wear closed toed shoes, long pants, and warm layers. It's cold and windy up there. There is a small visitor center at the summit that is open from 7am - noon for anyone looking to get their National Park Passport book stamped.

Worth the trip and Everett and Bryan made it memorable - We booked last minute, was worth every penny. They have folks like Everett and Bryan, who pick you up from the hotel and drive down. Best part, they inform everyone what one can do and what shouldn’t do. Very attentive and take such good care, also they provide such good input about the history, place, various things one can do. To end it up with a great breakfast and drop off at the hotel. Whole trip was not boring as they keep everyone involved If booking a trip with this company, be sure to ask for the two. It would make your trip more enjoyable

Great tour with great driver - This was excellent. Everett was a great driver and conversationalist. We were very fortunate that there were only two of us on this tour. They gave us fleece ponchos because it is cold up there. Wear pants and layers of clothing. Thank you Everett.

Unfortunately Mother... - Unfortunately Mother Nature was not on our side to be able to see the sunrise due to a rain cloud. Abe our guide did everything possible to make sure that we had a positive experience which was very much appreciated! Providing us with fleece lined ponchos was a game changer! Even though we did not actually see the sunrise it was still a good experience and can only imagine how amazing it would have been to see the sunrise!
