• Trou aux Cerfs - Trou aux Cerfs is a dormant crater lake and cinder cone volcano, featuring a well-defined cone and crater. Standing at 605 meters, it is located in Curepipe, Mauritius. The crater’s diameter is reported to be between 300 and 350 meters, with a depth of 80 meters. Formed less than 2 million years ago during the second phase of volcanic activity that shaped Mauritius, experts believe the volcano is currently dormant but could become active within the next thousand years. Its last eruption occurred 700,000 years ago.

• Mare aux Vacoas - Mare aux Vacoas is the largest reservoir in Mauritius, situated in Plaines Wilhems, southwest of the island, south of Curepipe. It has a capacity of 25,890,000 cubic meters (914,000,000 cu ft) and supplies water to the upper Plaines Wilhems and Moka. The reservoir was built in 1885.

• Grand Bassin - Ganga Talao, commonly known as Grand Bassin, is a crater lake located in a secluded mountain area in the Savanne district, deep within Mauritius. Positioned about 550 meters (1,800 ft) above sea level, it is regarded as the most sacred Hindu site in Mauritius. The first group of pilgrims to Ganga Talao came from the village of Triolet, led by Pandit Giri Gossayne from Terre Rouge in 1898. The Shiv Mandir, dedicated to Shiva, one of Hinduism’s principal deities, is situated on the lake’s bank. Temples dedicated to other gods, including Lord Hanuman, Goddess Ganga, and Lord Ganesh, are also found along Grand Bassin. During Shivaratri, approximately half a million Hindus in Mauritius embark on a pilgrimage to the lake, many walking from their homes carrying Kanvars.

Situated at 700 meters above sea level in Black River Gorges National Park, Alexandra Falls provides a peaceful retreat surrounded by forest and native wildlife.

• Black River Gorges National Park - Black River Gorges National Park is located in the hilly southwestern region of Mauritius. Established on June 15, 1994, it is managed by the National Parks and Conservation Service. Covering an area of 67.54 km², the park includes humid upland forest, drier lowland forest, and marshy heathland. It protects most of the island’s remaining rainforest, although much has been degraded by introduced plants like Chinese guava and privet, and animals such as rusa deer and wild pigs. Several areas have been fenced off, and invasive species have been eradicated to preserve native wildlife. The park is home to many endemic plants and animals, including the Mauritian flying fox and all of the island’s endemic birds: Mauritius kestrel, pink pigeon, Mauritius parakeet, Mauritius cuckooshrike, Mauritius bulbul, Mauritius olive white-eye, Mauritius grey white-eye, and Mauritius fody. BirdLife International has designated the park as an Important Bird Area (IBA).

• Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth Geopark - The Seven Coloured Earths are a geological formation and popular tourist attraction located in the Chamarel plain of the Rivière Noire District in southwestern Mauritius. This relatively small area of sand dunes features sand in seven distinct colors (approximately red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple, and yellow). The main attraction is that these differently colored sands naturally settle in separate layers, giving the dunes a surreal, striped appearance. Since the earth was first exposed, rain has sculpted beautiful patterns into the hillside, creating an effect reminiscent of earthen meringue.
