Great experience - My teenage boys did this and loved it. It was very safe and they were through with instructions and procedures. Doesn’t take long so still plenty of time to walk around. Cab was $5 pp but a 25 minute walk if you don’t mind some hills.

Yay! Mazatlan zipline! - An amazing experience. The hike to the top wasn't guided which is fine. It's still beautiful, a little intense so take your time and bring water! I suggest going early that way it isn't so hot. The guys that run it are amazing and it's very reasonably priced! There was no wait or line at all!

Amazing time with Amazing views.. Definitely a must do on your visit to Mazatlan, Mexico 🇲🇽 - It was a great experience. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and informative. They do take photos but they do not pressure you to buy them at the end. They announce when the zipline is open and you go over when you are ready. The view is amazing!!!! Every zipline staff i came in contact with had smiles and gave Hella good vibes!!!! I highly recommend it and its a quicker way back down to the bottom.. lol and rhey have this little shuttle to pick you up from the observatory to take you back to the lighthouse base. I was the first to take flight on this day Dec 14th 2025, the 1 yr anniversary of the zipline opening. Again Job well done by the staff. I had an amazing time!!!

Great adventure in Mazatlan - The Farolesa at Mazatlan is absolutely awesome. A unique experience. Idyllic location between two hills at the port of Mazatlan. Directly at another highlight, the observatory and the lighthouse. It is one of the largest cable cars (comparable to Flying Fox) in the world. It is 1.2 km long and high above the sea. Even the ascent to the starting point is something special and has it all. It goes uphill about 1 km on foot. Tip: Take something to drink. The view of the harbour compensates for everything. Finally, only 336 more steps and you are there. Friendly guides will receive you and give a brief briefing. Then it's helmet on, get in the harness and off you go. Approx. 90 seconds of fast-paced driving pleasure with a magnificent view. An absolute must for anyone coming to Mazatlan.

Lots of fun! - The zip line itself was a great experience. Five stars. BUT... Be prepared as you have to walk up the hill which is rather steep. And take 30 minutes or so and on a hot day it Can be difficult for even the most fittest. We saw some elderly folks really struggling.

So fun and scenic! - I had an absolute blast hiking to the lighthouse and on the zip line. It was my favorite day on my recent trip, and I would recommend it to anyone. The reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the inaccuracy of the description of what was provided. This is NOT a guided hike and there is no tour guide who "will share fascinating insights about Mazatlán’s history, its unique ecosystem..." The guide gives you a briefing in the office at the base of the mountain, then walks you to the trail, and you climb the mountain on your own. It is a clear trail which is easy to follow and you won't get lost, but you will not have a guide with you. Therefore, if you have an emergency, you're on your own. The only employee we encountered partway up the path didn't speak English. With that said, the hike was not too hard, absolutely beautiful, and a fun workout. At the top there is a clear glass platform that you can walk on for $2, as well as the zipline itself, which is super fun if you're not afraid of heights. I have never ziplined over the ocean before so that was a cool experience. Another thing to note is that this tour does NOT include admission to the observatory, so that will cost you another $30, but I do recommend that as it is worth it. We spent about 5 hours total, including eating lunch at the beautiful restaurant at the observatory with absolutely amazing views. There were a good number of people there, but it didn't seem crowded at all. I highly recommend this experience, but TripAdvisor needs to fix the description for accuracy.

Good experience - We enjoyed our ride on the Zipline after the climb up El Faro. This is NOT a guided hike up as stated. You're on your own. The Zipline itself is a little too slack. Most of us didn't make it across and had to be rescued. That only takes 2 minutes. Not to worry.

Line too long - We enjoyed the walk up to the lighthouse (which is relatively steep), but there was a VERY long line for the zipline, which made it definitely NOT worth the 90 seconds.

Almost made it! - Couldn't wait to do this after we seen the zip line being built 2 years ago. Made reservations that "said" guided hike up to the lighthouse with facts about the area. That didn't happen! You're on your own! That's not a bad thing, the hike is straight up and some people take ample rest stops. From the top the view is outstanding and your nerves get amped as you get ready to zip a significant distance across the ocean. Once released, everyone seems to turn backwards and that sucked. We rode the two minute zip line backwards so you could really see what awaited you. Then, on this day, only 10% of the people made it to the end! We had to be rescued, although it doesn't take long at all. Just a couple of minutes. Very fun ride, just could be better.
