Depart from the lodge around 3:30 pm for a sunset/nocturnal safari in Kruger National Park. During winter, the sun sets early, allowing for an extended night safari. In summer, experience stunning sunsets while on safari. Return to the lodge by 8:00 pm for a delightful dinner and a restful night, preparing for a full-day safari in Kruger National Park.
Kruger National Park - Private Safari
Kruger National Park - Safaris commence before sunrise, the most exciting time of the day, filled with anticipation. After a brief drive, enter the park gates. Your guide will know the best spots to find wildlife, including the Big 5 and plains game. This is the prime time to observe predators. The lodge provides breakfast packs, and your guide will pause after about 3 hours for breakfast, a bathroom break, and a coffee stop. The safari continues, exploring Kruger’s diverse ecozones, each with unique wildlife. Visit rivers, watering holes, plains, and bushveld areas. Lunch is at a rest camp, at your own expense. Enjoy curio shopping or a cold beer! The guide will then proceed with the safari, heading back to the lodge. Arrive between 3:30 - 4:30 pm, with time to relax, swim, and enjoy a delicious dinner.
Blyde River Canyon, Panorama Route - Private Tour
Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve - Visit God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon (the world’s 3rd largest canyon), Lisbon Waterfall, the 3 Rondawels, and the town of Graskop.
God’s Window offers a breathtaking view from the escarpment with a 1,300 m drop below. On a clear day, see as far as Kruger and beyond. Enjoy a short walk through a natural rainforest. Bourke’s Luck Potholes are a remarkable natural formation created by water erosion over centuries. The Potholes feature round carvings and holes of various sizes formed at the confluence of the Truer and Blyde Rivers in red sandstone. Guides will share the region’s history. Walk over chasms on small footbridges, observing water flowing through cracks and holes. Several small but beautiful waterfalls are in the area. Spend about 1 hour here, enjoying a 1 km walk.
Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve - At the northern end of the Drakensberg Range, the Three Rondavels stand as the most famous and photographed attraction in the region. The harder rock layers on top eroded slower than the softer layers beneath, creating formations resembling African rondavels.
God’s Window - With stunning views, canyons, rock formations, and waterfalls, God’s Window is an area of breathtaking scenic beauty. Mpumalanga is aptly known as Paradise Country.
Bourkes’ Luck Potholes - The Luck Potholes are incredible. Decades of swirling water where the Treur River meets the Blyde River have caused extensive water erosion, resulting in amazing rock sculptures that captivate for hours.
Mac Mac Falls - More waterfalls are found around Sabie than anywhere else in southern Africa. Mac Mac, regarded as the most stunning, features twin falls plunging 90m into a gorge.
Graskop Gorge Lift Company - This glass viewing elevator descends 60m down the sheer cliffs of Graskop Gorge, offering views of the Big Swing opposite, leading to an elevated forest boardwalk. The boardwalk stretches 500m to a 70m-high waterfall via suspension bridges and exhibits. At the top, a lifestyle center with a restaurant, craft market, and shops perches on the precipice. Entry fee included; activity at your own expense.
Graskop - Graskop’s natural wonders are among the most photographed and painted scenes globally. Located in Mpumalanga Province, Graskop is ideally situated in the heart of the tourism region and serves as the gateway to the Panorama Route. Graskop is a small town on the edge of the Drakensberg escarpment, an ideal base for exploring Mpumalanga’s sightseeing venues, including Kruger National Park, Pilgrims Rest, Blyde River Canyon, and more. It’s a great lunch stop.
Kruger Walking Safari - Flight to Cape Town
Kruger National Park - This active and interactive way to view wildlife allows for a unique connection with nature that game drives don’t offer. Track animals, see creatures up close, and appreciate the diverse flora. Being on foot provides a rare opportunity to see, hear, touch, and smell the environment, with your guide introducing Africa’s flora and fauna intimately.
After a brief breakfast and coffee stop, continue the safari, returning to the lodge around 11 am. Bid farewell to your guide and freshen up before heading back to Johannesburg.
Upon arrival, check in for your flight to Cape Town, where you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel.
