- Chalk Hill Wines - The Chalk Hill legacy began with John Harvey’s arrival in Adelaide in 1839, when the population was about 6,000. John was the second individual to plant grapevines north of Adelaide, preceding the establishment of the Barossa and Clare wine regions. Six generations and 185 years later, the Harvey family continues their grape growing and winemaking tradition in McLaren Vale with Chalk Hill.
This is also the home of Never Never Gin, where visitors can sample some delightful gins, with guests covering the cost of their own gin.
- Samuel’s Gorge - Samuel’s Gorge wines are meticulously handcrafted, reflecting the landscape in which they are produced. The winemakers draw on history for texture, complexity, and harmony, employing patient techniques and indigenous yeast to ensure long, slow fermentations. The winery operates under a simple shelter, with a starry sky as its ceiling at night. Visitors are welcome to observe the winemaking process during harvest in late summer.
- Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards Cellar Door and Winery - The Oliver family consists of six generations of determined, competitive growers and one equally spirited winemaker.
Located in the heart of McLaren Vale, the family excels in producing exceptional parcels of fruit on their 100-hectare ‘Taranga’ property.
Their collection of small-batch, handcrafted Oliver’s Taranga wines reflects both variety and vintage, capturing a moment in time while continuing to document the family’s enduring 185-year relationship with the land.
