Over-sold, under delivered. - Before beginning this review, I want to acknowledge that the staff working at Grand Canyon Glamping Resort are just employees trying to do their best given major management issues, lack of resources and information, understaffing, and overbooking. Everything, including checking-in for your reservation, is run through one of the partial owners, who is not on-site, and rarely answers the phone. We found Karen and Cliff to be particularly kind and appreciate their efforts. At $400/night the furnished (with shower and toilet)Star-Gazing Dome Glamping experience is over-sold and under-delivered, this experience is absolutely not worth the price paid. We are experienced campers and enjoyed Glamping in several other states, previously. We thought we knew what to expect… When we arrived, our dome was still being constructed. The result of overbooking and under planning. The flooring was incomplete, propane was not hooked up, and the door to the dome did not shut properly or have a key. After several requests, we were never provided a key to secure the dome and our valuables. The septic tank is shared for all five domes and the shared bathrooms on the lower property. With over 20 people staying each night, the septic tank quickly becomes full. This became a problem for us when showering on the second day, as the septic tank backed up into our shower and onto the bathroom floor, soaking the rugs in sewage and leaving us wondering if we should have been using bottled water to brush our teeth and wash our hands… I do not recommend booking experiences through Grand Canyon Glamping Resort. The owners of the property also manage the adventure company out of Las Vegas. Information about where to meet your guides, timing of the tours, and other communications are non-existent. Staff on the property have no information about experiences booked, even if booked on the resort’s website. We were offered a refund for our final night of the stay on the property, which we accepted, in lieu of moving to a different dome (the key problem would have been solved, the septic problem would not). While investigating charges, we were overcharged for our stay including two cleaning fees and two booking fees. The receptionist assisting us with the refund process was rude and hung up on us at the end. This place has potential. They’re not there yet and have a long way to go. We would not recommend staying here.

Don’t go - I booked two nights in a stargazer dome but was emailed to say they couldn’t accommodate us the first night and would give us a wagon without charge. We declined and spent only one short night in the dome. The staff were super friendly but I was charged $505 for one night in a dome. Please consider the lack of privacy in the open air bathroom. Two meals for two was $150. I would not recommend!! It’s in the middle of nowhere and definitely the most expensive mistake I have ever made.

Rip off joint - I was injured requiring surgery and unable to go ahead with my trip west. - Grand Canyon Glamping Resort was the only place who did not refund my money and if I booked ahead they were going to charge me an additional $350 for a night - what a rip off joint.

Best place to ruin your vacation - This is a great place to go if you want to totally ruin your vacation. You get picked up from the strip and dropped off to the resort. Here no one will acknowledge you unless you’re going on a helicopter, quad bike or horse riding experience as they’re the only guests who matter. There’s an option to buy a special birthday package where they take 150$ and put a couple balloons in your tent along with a pathetic cake and a bottle of champagne. For me this was unacceptable, so I had this refunded, and they instead handed the cake out to the rest of the guests totally free of charge in front of us. If you want to go hiking round the area there’s loads of hills around… but they’re all fenced off so nothing is accessible. You can’t see the sunset or sunrise from this resort but you can see where it’s suppose to be. You can have smores in the evening round a camp fire if the wind isnt too high. But you only find out the wind is too high when you’ve asked each memeber of staff at least 5 times individually. And whatever you do don’t take the time they say they’ll get you back to the strip at with any level of seriousness. They say it’s around 10/11, but by that they mean whatever time the more important guests arrive who are doing the helicopter. So give them a leeway of around 5 hours. Who doesn’t want to spend their precious vacation time sat in a car park for hours on end after all anyway? And if you want an update… there’s a lot of staff you can speak to, they’ll all tell you it’s nothing to do with them and they’re not the ones who caused the problem. There’s only one guy who works with the horses that actually cares and helps you out. This is the man who should be in charge of the whole thing, it would run much better and the atmosphere would be lovely. Don’t even consider talking to the manager because she goes AWOL the minute a complaint comes in. Aside from all this, the cost of food and drink here is extreme. The cost is so high and the serving sizes are tiny.
