Erta Ale - Lake Asale - HamadEla
Danakil Depression - Early in the morning, there is a second opportunity to visit the lava lake if desired, followed by a descent to Askoma. After breakfast and a brief rest, the drive continues to HamadEla, a base camp near Dallol. A stop in Berhale is made for the guide to complete paperwork. Security and a local guide are taken from HamadEla to proceed to the salt lake, Lake Asale, where the evening is spent admiring the stunning sunset reflections on the lake.
HamadEla - Dallol - Mekelle
Danakil Depression - After breakfast in the morning, the drive to Dallol begins to explore sites such as the vibrant Dallol volcano, salt mountains, Sulfur lake (locally known as the red lake), and camel caravans & local salt mining (if available). The return to Mekelle is scheduled for around 4:30 pm, with lunch served en route, either in a shaded area or in Berhale.
