Great trip on Great Ocean Road - Had a wonderful trip along the Great Ocean Road with our amazing tour guide, Sharmila! She was friendly, caring, and made the whole journey so enjoyable. The spacious, comfortable van made the ride relaxing, and we were lucky to experience a mix of rain and sunshine, making the views even more magical. Sunrise was stunning! Strongly recommend this tour — big thanks to Sharmila for an unforgettable day!

We had a fantastic time... - We had a fantastic time on this trip, thanks to our amazing tour guide, James. He was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited and kept us entertained with his great sense of humor, which made the entire journey relaxed and enjoyable. The tour started around 6:30 AM, depending on our pickup location, and we returned to the CBD around 7 PM. It was a long day, but James remained energetic and enthusiastic throughout, which we truly appreciated. The weather was perfect on the day of our trip, and we were lucky enough to see multiple rainbows along the way — a truly unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Highly recommended!

Highly Recommend this Tour - One of the best tours we have been on. Terry was a great guide. You have to try the chopper flight over the 12. Awesome trip.

Beautiful Sites, but Silent Guide - Mike, our guide, was 25mins late picking us up- even though I had emailed 88 Luxury Tours the day before to confirm the time and our hotel. We had 7 people total in a comfortable mini van. Unfortunately, Mike seemed like a nice guy, but was not an accomplished guide. During our 11.5hr day he said very little. He didn’t share information or stories like other guides. Our itinerary: 7:00 Pick Up (25mins late) 9:15 Bakery in Colac (15mins) 10:15 Apostles (35mins plenty of time to walk the trail R/T) BEST STOP 11:15 Loch Ard Shipwreck site (30mins plenty of time to walk the trail R/T) 12:20 Rainforest (30mins R/T walk to waterfall) 2nd BEST stop 1:30 Koala Bears in Trees 2:00 Apollo Bay Lunch (45mins) cheeseburgers @ Pit Stop Bros- very good 3:40 Kangaroos (waste of time) 4:00 Teddy’s Lookout near Lorne 4:30 Great Ocean Road Sign and beach (waste of time) 4:55 Chocolate Factory and final bathroom stop (15mins) 6:40 Southern Train Station (you find your way home from here) The times are approximate, but you can see there are lots of stops. I would definitely cut out 2-3 stops. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking: rolling hills, sheep farms, cattle ranches, mountains, rainforest, and beaches. However, the 3* rating reflects Mike being a poor guide.

Wished we had a better tour guide - Although we saw some great views and enjoyed ourselves at some points, our tour guide- Michael- was a disappointment. When picking us up, there was another person who booked this tour at our hotel, but our tour guide left without him because he wasn’t his list. Turns out he was, and we had to turn around to go get him. Once we got seats, we noticed garbage left behind from the previous tour, which wasn’t great to deal with. The seats were nice, but it would have been preferable not to deal with someone else’s trash. After picking us up, he was lecturing some younger tourists about life lessons, like what money meant to them. It clearly made them uncomfortable and they asked him to stop talking about it. It was awkward for the rest of us too. When our tour guide learned that myself and my partner were American, he kept talking about Trump as if we have no clue what the politics are like in the US. Once everyone was picked up and we were on the road, we noticed that he was swerving in between the lanes, and you could see him getting drowsy from the rear view mirror. Throughout the stops, he wasn’t always clear about when we needed to be back at the bus. At one point, we were all sitting in the bus ready to go and our tour guide was listening to TikToks at full volume for several minutes before he realized we were all ready to go. The stops we were did go to were enjoyable, however we didn’t stop at Great Otway National Park, we just pulled over outside the park entrance at a farm to try and see koalas. When one passenger asked if we would stop in the rainforest, our guide snapped at her and said that this wasn’t the right vehicle for stopping in the rainforest yet he went on and on about how we should return to the rainforest before leaving Melbourne because it was so amazing. This was confusing as the rainforest was on the itinerary. Unfortunately we were unable to go down to the Loch Ard Gorge or the Gibson steps because they were under construction. That was a bummer, but we understood that isn’t under this tour’s control. We didn’t stop at Teddy’s Lookout. At Anglesea, we briefly stopped at a golf course to see kangaroos and then went to a stop by a beach. Our tour guide asked us not to go to the beach so he wouldn’t have to clean out sand from the bus, even though our other stops were sandy. The chocolaterie was ok, but I wish we had spent those 45 minutes visiting the sites we skipped over. Our tour guide also said we were only stopping here because it is a tourist trap and the owner just wants to profit off tourists in popular areas. Before leaving to drive back to Melbourne, our tour guide got a call saying his license was suspended. After the call, our tour guide complained he didn’t want anymore calls after 5 PM and he was ready to be home. Our tour guide swerved between lanes on the way back and had to blast the radio to stay awake. We’re just glad to be back in Melbourne safe and have seen a couple a cool sites. I think this tour would have been worth it if we went to the sites as promised and had a professional, safe tour guide. Based on the other reviews, I think a different tour guide would have made this experience great. I wish I had better things to say but our tour guide made us feel unsafe and uncomfortable.
