- Melbourne - Prepare for an exciting journey! The bus is on its way, so gather your belongings, embrace the thrill, and let’s embark on this adventure! Departure from Melbourne is at 7:35 am sharp, heading over the Westgate Bridge towards the surf coast capital. It’s advised that guests have breakfast before the tour as the first stop is mid-morning.
- Serendip Sanctuary - Delight in morning tea and wildlife sightings at Serendip Sanctuary, located west of Melbourne on the route to the Great Ocean Road.
- Geelong - As we depart Melbourne, we pass by Geelong, the second-largest city in Victoria.
- Great Ocean Road - Discover the Great Ocean Road.
- Great Ocean Road Memorial Archway - A monument marking the original starting point of the Great Ocean Road.
After capturing photos at the iconic Memorial Arch and learning about the history of the soldiers who constructed this road in memory of their fallen comrades, we will continue through more breathtaking views (with photo stops, of course!)
- Great Ocean Road Visitor Information Centre - Enjoy a lunch break in Apollo Bay at the end of the surf coast, with ample time to explore this seaside community and dine at one of the many local cafes or pubs (at your own expense).
After exploring Apollo Bay, purchasing any souvenirs, or savoring some delicious ice cream, it’s back on the bus to head inland to the Green Coast.
- Anglesea Visitor Information Centre - After leaving Melbourne, we travel down to the Surf Coast, passing through charming seaside towns like Anglesea, Lorne, and Airey’s Inlet. We stop along the way for morning tea and to enjoy the fresh sea air while watching surfers in the water. With the proximity to Antarctica, you’ll learn why this is a great surf spot and why wetsuits are essential!
- Great Otway National Park - Continuing on the Great Ocean Road, we venture into the lush green Otways, driving through towering Eucalyptus trees until we reach a patch of Cool Temperate Rainforest. Be amazed by the change in scenery as we walk through tree ferns and marvel at the ‘ancient relics’ – the Myrtle Beech trees that provide perfect canopy shade and date back to when Australia was part of a supercontinent known as Gondwanaland. Breathe in the fresh air before we take a relaxing drive out to the dramatic Shipwreck Coast!
- Loch Ard Gorge - Also within the National Park, we visit Loch Ard Gorge, the site of one of Australia’s most famous shipwrecks. Hear the dramatic tale of Tom and Eva, then head down to the beach to explore the caves. This is also where you will find rock formations such as Island Archway, Razorback, and the ‘Salt and Pepper Shakers’.
- Twelve Apostles - Emerging from the trees and back by the Southern Ocean, we arrive in Port Campbell National Park, home to the iconic 12 Apostles. We will spend about 40 minutes at the Apostles, where you can enjoy free time to take in the views from every angle, walk along the boardwalks, and capture perfect pictures of this wild and rugged coastline.
- WWI Memorial - After a day full of exploration, we bid farewell to the Great Ocean Road and turn back inland to return to Melbourne via country roads. We pass through farmlands on the way to the country town of Colac, where you can grab a quick dinner (at your own expense).
- Melbourne - As we return to your pick-up point, sit back, relax, and reminisce about the day’s magic—filled with epic sights, laughter, and unforgettable moments. We arrive back in Melbourne late in the evening, around 8:00 pm.
