Great Walking Tour - Great Walking Tour, our guide Charlie was a wealth of knowledge about Memphis. We learned all about the Yellow Fever outbreak in the 1870’s, and how that influenced the development of downtown Memphis, and Beale Street. The tour was a good length, about 1-3/4 hours culminating with the Duck March at the Peabody Hotel. Charlie gave some good info on things to do and places to eat like the Rendevous, very good Memphis Dry Ribs

Interesting - Charlie was a very nice young man. My husband and I were the only 2 people on the tour. We met at the beautiful old Peabody Hotel, we got started at 9:20 AM. We walked down through the pedestrian and trolley street,(no trolleys they are being repaired). We walked to the river park, nice view! Charlie knew dates and some interesting stories. We arrived back at the Peabody Hotel at 10:30 AM. Charlie recommended watching the duck parade and then go up to the top floor, go outside and see the city from up there!! Lovely!! The only suggestion would be for Charlie to slow down his voice cadence, we had a couple times we missed what he said.

Memphis walking tour - This was a great tour and the guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. We had a private tour because of the rain so was able to get to know the city a little better.

OK but not great - The tour guide was very enthusiastic and to a degree knowledgable of the history of Memphis. Having read books on the history of Memphis, there was more that could have been included. I’m guessing the itinerary and script was planned by whomever. Memphis is looking pretty sad, but there are still old buildings and homes and churches that figure significantly to the history. Little of this was included. The tour is listed as 2-3 hours. It started at the Peabody Hotel at 9:30 and finished there at 11:00. I participated in a walking tour of Toronto July 2024. The Memphis tour pales in comparison to the Toronto experience.
