Departure for Siberut from Padang (Saturday)

Padang - Start the day early to catch the fast boat at 7 am heading to Siberut Island. Arrive around midday at Sikabaluan harbor, where lunch can be enjoyed. Reach Maileppet, a small harbor on Siberut Island, by 1:30 pm.

Muntei - The local guide will escort you to Muntei, a quaint village near the harbor, where you can relax while the guide procures all necessary supplies for the journey and obtains permission from local authorities to enter the national park.

Next, board a motorized canoe for a 1 to 1.5-hour journey up the Reirekek River into the forest.

Then, embark on a 2-hour or longer trek to reach the “uma,” the traditional Mentawai house.

Upon arrival at the “uma,” spend the remainder of the day exploring, relaxing, and getting acquainted with the Mentawai family.

Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay with the locals.

Return to Padang (Tuesday)

Muntei - In the morning, bid farewell to the Mentawai family and trek through the jungle once more, take the motorized canoe down the river, and return to Muntei village. Have lunch at Muara Siberut (a local restaurant) while waiting for the fast boat.

Padang - Board the fast boat at 3 pm to return to Padang city. Expect to arrive between 6 and 6:30 pm. Transfer to your hotel.
