The best tour experience - Fantastic tour hosted by Mario and Hernan. Excellent attention to detail and I loved their passion in making it a memorable experience for our group. We had first access into Chichen Itza which was great for photos. The traditional Mayan family lunch was superb and some of the most authentic Mexican food you will taste. The private Cenote was beautiful and it our group had it all to ourselves. Overall a wonderful day and would highly recommend Eco Expeditions Mexico.

Absolutely worth it - I’m so glad I went on this trip, our guide Hernan is very considerate, it’s a small group, we saw everything we wanted to see, we were the first ones in Chichén Itzá so we got to avoid the crowds, the cenote is private and very beautiful, the pink lagoon is very pink! Very full packed schedule but not really tiring

Enjoyable and memorable - We’re very thankful for Delio leading our trip. We started very early (like all the other reviews) and we beat the crowds to Chichen Itza. We were leaving the site as the bouts of tourists were coming in but this also means that you won’t have an abundant time getting your pictures taken in each site (you can take pictures of it but the tour was so informative that you have to pay attention to it). Delio was very knowledgeable about the site and was engaging and fun. Just take note of the entrance fee and if you’re planning on bringing GoPros they charge you 50mxn. The cenote wasn’t Tekum (as stated here) but Oxman (for our batch anyway). It’s small but beautiful and the facilities are clean. There are no showers for after the swim but the water in the cenote is refreshing. Be prepared for the heat, pack your sunscreen and hats and towels. You can ask for ice in the restaurant (the food is sufficient, the service is fast, and it will sustain you for the rest of the trip) and bring it with you in the van (they have a cooler) for when you need to lower your body temperature — I include this tip bc I started to have rashes / allergic reactions to the heat and while the van is cool, the heat you will endure in your trip can make you almost feverish. The pink lagoons is good for the pictures, but if you don’t speak Spanish it will not be informative and there’s really not much to know. You can look up information for yourself, otherwise the guides there will just help you with your pictures and not much else. Take note that this has a separate entrance fee. You can’t bring umbrellas inside the park so be equipped with large hats and/or towels. The flamingos are within the area but it’s a 2-3 minute ride from the pink waters. You won’t get up close with them (unlike in Rio Lagartos ??) but Delio brought binoculars so you can see the details in them. Despite not seeing them up close, they’re really beautiful. I suggest you bring good cameras or phones with a good zoom feature otherwise it would only look like dots in the distance. They really are pink but without the binoculars you wouldn’t be able to tell. There are enough stops in between so make sure you take your breaks as needed. Delio was nice to drop us off close/in front of our stay. If you want a good experience, make sure you get him as your guide.

100% best tour I’ve done - I couldn’t be happier with this tour! It ended up being just me, which was cool because we moved through the tour at a pace that was perfect for me. We were first at Chichén Itzá, so all of my pictures are free of people in the background. The cenote was so incredible and there were only a few other people there. At the beginning I didn’t think I’d care much for the cenote, but it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the tour. Bring a book or something for entertainment because the car rides are long! This tour is 10000% worth it and I recommend it to anyone. The tour guide is super knowledgeable too. I’m so glad I did this tour instead of one on a massive bus with too many people!

Edgar is the man! - Edgar, our driver and tour guide, was terrific. The tour was very long. More like 12-13 hours than 10. The chicken Itza visit was excellent, and so were the cenotes. Edgar managed to get us in quickly, ahead of the long line, and was very knowledgeable of the history. Even debunking a lot of things we read on the internet. We then went to a cenote with very few people, not too far away. We went to a great restaurant; Edgar ordered ahead, so the wait wasn't long. The pink flamingos were at the coast. That's what took so long, getting there and 2.5 hours getting back to Merida. The internet pictures are doctored, and the water is not that pink; no swimming is allowed. It's super salt water. The flamingos are at a far distance as well, with no close-ups. I don't think it was worth it, but the ocean there made my day. But again, no swimming. But no one was on the beach; just breathtaking. After a long day, Edgar took us to our Airbnb doorstep!

A Magical Day in Yucatán! - Alinari, our driver, and Delio, our guide, led us on a magical trip across the state of Yucatán. Leaving Merida at 6 am, we rode in their very comfortable van to Chichen Itza. Delio purchased our tickets and we were among the first to enter this impressive site. Delio was very knowledgeable and proud of the history of the Mayans. He shared his knowledge of the entire area in a very interesting way, and then allowed time for us to re-explore on our own. Next, Alinari drove us to a wonderful, totally enclosed Cenote in Tekom. Our group of 8 were some of only a few in the entire Cenote. The cool, refreshing water and beautiful setting was just lovely! Then, Delio took our lunch orders for a local restaurant, which had our food ready upon our arrival. The food (and drink!) were delicious, and our "familia", as Delio called us, so enjoyed talking and laughing together that we didn't even hear Delio tell us that it was time to "vamos!" Alinari then drove us to the Pink Pools in Las Colorados, an amazing natural phenomenon of beautiful pink water, then to see the gorgeous flamingos nearby. Then it was time for the 2-hour drive back to Merida. Alinari thoughtfully made a rest/snack/drink stop for us along the way! When we arrived back in Merida in early evening, we left our guides and familia knowing that we had had an experience that we will remember always.
