Worth it - This was a great time. Uxmal is lesser known, but a beautiful site to visit. Go feed the monkeys at Choco-History! This is the tour to take.

A Complete Day! - Michelle was an enthusiastic and informative guide. She quickly switched from Spanish to English and answered all of our questions at Kabah and Uxmal. The two sites were amazing! Our lunch was delightful and I appreciated being able to choose my own menu. The Chocolate Museum seemed rather “ touristy” at the start, but they did an excellent job of explaining the history and production of cocoa . We liked the solemnity of the Shamen and watching the hot cocoa being made. The grounds were beautiful. Thanks to Jorge for safe driving and always helping people getting in and out of the van.

Chocolate never Ruins your day! - Great exprience. Lots of stairs so wear comfy shoes and bring water. The ruins were so amazing and the Choco Story stop was really fun. Luis and Annel were great guides and kept everything on schedule for the day.

Jorge and Annie (sp?)... - Jorge and Annie (sp?) were great guides, it was a friendly group, and the sites were beautiful. Navigating the steep stone stairs was at times hard. If you have mobility issues Kabah may not be possible. The bus was also extremely cramped, especially in the back. If you're tall or larger I recommend getting picked up at the headquarters/first pickup and getting there early to sit towards the front. On one of the bumpier stretches of road I smacked my head.

meh. this felt like hunger games - driver was punctual and guide was fluent in spanish and english. sadly as the only non spanish speaker, i definitely missed out on the inside jokes and most explanations felt like a “lost in translation” (turn left more intensity) moment. google translate was helpful when there was signal. the worst part of the trip was being starved until 2pm. granted thet this is mexico and a late lunch is more of a norm. we all mentioned we were famished but the guide just nodded and i think he just wanted to complete the travel itin. honestly, considering the other mexicans tourists also felt starved; and that we started at 8am with no complentary snacks and no water, this felt more like torture. fortunately i always travel with food and water, as should you if you decide to embark on this tour. the chocolate museum was meh; it was very sad to see the caged animals in close proximity, the chocolate drinking ceremony was the highlight but that only took 10 mins. overall meh.
