This route is more picturesque than Naromoru and is located on the mountain’s drier side, providing some of the best walking experiences. The climb ascends through a forest and onto a broad ridge leading to the summit area. The journey begins on the northwest side of the mountain, close to Nanyuki. Access is convenient, and the bunkhouse facilities are the finest on this side of the mountain. Although the summit of Mount Kenya can be reached in 4 days following the itinerary below, it is highly recommended to spend an extra night acclimatizing at the base in Nanyuki town. This can be arranged for an additional fee.
