Nairobi to Sirimon Gate
Sirimon Gate - Depart Nairobi at 7:00 a.m. heading to Sirimon Gate via Nanyuki, where you’ll cross the equator for the first time and conduct an experiment to confirm your location at the equator before continuing to Sirimon Gate for lunch. The distance from Nairobi to Sirimon Gate is 2,650 meters. After lunch, you’ll begin the trek to Old Moses Camp, covering nine kilometers in about three to four hours. The trail passes through a forest of indigenous trees such as podocarpus, Douglas fir, red cedar, and pine, then through bamboo, and finally reaches the heath area, arriving at Old Moses Hut around 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. In the evening, a guide will take you on a short hike up to 3,600 meters before descending back to the hut for dinner and an overnight stay.
Old Moses Hut to Likii Viewpoint
Nairobi - After an early breakfast at 6:00 a.m., you’ll ascend to 4,001 meters to reach the viewpoint of Mount Kenya’s highest peak. Here, you’ll enjoy a stunning view of Likii Valley and the twin peaks of Batian at 5,199 meters and Nelion at 5,188 meters. You’ll then descend back to Old Moses Camp for lunch and prepare for the return trek to Sirimon Gate, where your transfer vehicle will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Nairobi.
