From Nanyuki Town, the journey continues towards Mt. Kenya, reaching the Sirimon Gate at 2,650 meters. The distance from Nanyuki to Sirimon Gate is 23 km.
Upon arrival, embark on a 3½ hour (9 km) trek through the forest, bamboo, rosewood, and heather zones to reach Old Moses Camp at 3,300 meters.
The ascent gains 740 meters, aiding in acclimatization. The forest and bamboo areas are home to numerous buffaloes, bushbucks, and a wide variety of bird species. Hike an additional 1 km from Old Moses Camp to 3,600 meters to view two of Mt. Kenya’s peaks – Nelion and Batian.
After capturing some photos, descend from 3,600 meters back to Old Moses Camp at 3,300 meters for a picnic lunch.
Following lunch, descend 9 km (1.5 hours) back to Sirimon Gate, where your driver-guide will be waiting to transfer you back to Nairobi and drop you off at your hotel.
