The journey begins in the morning after breakfast or at a time that suits you, as we embark on an exploration of the Merzouga desert in a 4×4 vehicle. Our first stop is the village of Khamlia, where you can enjoy the vibrant Gnawa music performed by the local community, originally from Sudan and Ghana.
After enjoying the music, dancing, and capturing memories with photos, the adventure continues along the Paris Dakar rally route. We will traverse the desert track towards Mefes to admire its unique desert stones. This will be a fantastic opportunity to explore the desert oasis and meet the Nomadic people who reside there. Discover how these resilient individuals thrive in the desert, enduring sandstorms and the intense summer heat. A traditional Berber lunch will be served, allowing you to relax with the Nomads and enjoy tea prepared by a Berber woman in the traditional manner.
Following lunch, the journey proceeds towards the Erg Chebbi dunes. We will return to Merzouga, concluding the tour. We can also arrange to drop you off at a camp or any other location of your choice.

Then, make a stop at Khamlia village to enjoy some optional Gnawa music, where you can socialize and perhaps enjoy mint tea with the locals. Please note that a tip for the Gnawa musicians is customary, or you may choose to skip this and proceed directly to the Lead Mines in Mefes. This small, nearly abandoned town on the opposite side of the Erg Chebbi dunes is renowned for its mineral mines, particularly iron, zinc, and lead, which have been operational since the French colonization. Afterwards, the 4WD excursion continues to visit nomadic people living in Berber-style tents on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. The tour concludes in Merzouga, where we will drop you off at your hotel or any preferred location.
