Merzouga - Departing from Fez in the morning, the journey will take us through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stops include Ifrane, known as the “Little Switzerland” of Morocco, and the cedar forests near Azrou, where wild monkeys may be seen. After a picturesque drive through valleys and palm groves, we will arrive in Merzouga by late afternoon. Tonight’s accommodation is a traditional desert hotel located at the edge of the dunes.
Merzouga Desert Adventure
Merzouga - Following breakfast, the day is free to enjoy the desert. Options include relaxing, exploring Merzouga, or participating in optional activities such as a 4x4 desert tour, visiting a Gnawa music village, or sandboarding. In the afternoon, a camel ride into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi is planned, perfectly timed for sunset. The evening promises to be memorable with dinner, music, and stargazing at a luxury desert camp.
Merzouga, Todgha Gorge, Dades Gorge
Todgha Gorge - An early start allows for watching the sunrise over the dunes, followed by a camel ride back for breakfast. The journey continues towards Tinghir, with a stop at the renowned Todra Gorge, a stunning canyon ideal for a brief walk and photography. By evening, arrival in Dades Gorge is expected, where a cozy guesthouse overlooking the valley will be the night’s accommodation.
Dades Gorge, Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou, Marrakech
Ait Ben Haddou - The final day travels along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, through the Valley of Roses, and onward to Ouarzazate, known as Morocco’s “Hollywood.” A visit to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and popular filming location, is included. The journey concludes with a crossing of the High Atlas Mountains, reaching Marrakech by evening, with drop-off at your accommodation.
