Fes - The journey begins in Fes, where the driver/guide will collect travelers from their hotel or a designated meeting point in the Medina.
Ifrane - Known as “Little Switzerland,” Ifrane is a charming Moroccan tourist city in the Fès-Meknès region. It boasts clean streets, European-style architecture, and a pleasant climate with cool summers and snowy winters. The city is renowned for its natural beauty, including forests, waterfalls, and lakes like Ain Vittel and Dayet Aoua. Home to Al Akhawayn University, one of Morocco’s top universities, Ifrane attracts visitors seeking tranquility, skiing, and fresh mountain air.
Errachidia - The Ziz River, originating in the High Atlas Mountains near Midelt, flows for approximately 280 km through Errachidia and Tafilalet. It sustains vital oases, such as the Tafilalet Oasis, and features significant dams like the Hassan Addakhil Dam, which supplies water for drinking and agriculture. Historically, the Ziz River was a crucial trade route for caravans connecting northern Morocco with the Sahara Desert. The Ziz Valley was pivotal in Morocco’s trade history, especially for ancient caravans: • Caravans from northern Morocco or Fez would traverse Midelt and follow the Ziz Valley southward. • This path led to the Tafilalt oases, one of the world’s largest oases. • From Tafilalt, caravans continued toward the Sahara Desert, trading salt, gold, and dates with regions like Mali and Niger.
Merzouga - Arriving in Merzouga by evening, travelers will embark on a camel ride to the camp. Along the way, there will be opportunities to capture the sunset and enjoy sandboarding. Upon reaching the tents, guests can look forward to a delightful evening with music and stargazing, following a delicious dinner.
Merzouga to Ouarzazate
Todgha Gorge - Situated near Tinghir in southeastern Morocco, Todra Gorge is a breathtaking natural marvel. Carved into the eastern High Atlas Mountains, the gorge features towering limestone cliffs up to 300 meters high, with some sections narrowing to just 10 meters wide. The Todra River flows through the gorge, offering a refreshing contrast to the dramatic red rock walls. The area is popular among hikers and rock climbers for its numerous climbing routes and attracts travelers eager to experience its stunning scenery.
El Kelaa M’gouna - Often referred to as the “City of Roses,” El Kelaa M’Gouna is a quaint town in southeastern Morocco, near the Dades Valley. It is celebrated for its fragrant roses, which bloom in spring and are honored each May during the Rose Festival, drawing thousands of visitors from Morocco and beyond. Surrounded by lush oases and striking landscapes, El Kelaa M’Gouna serves as a gateway to the Dades Valley, the Valley of Roses, and the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.” The roses are used to produce rose water, essential oils, and perfumes, making the town a key center for traditional cosmetics and crafts.
Ouarzazate - Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, guests can unwind at a hotel featuring a swimming pool and enjoy a delightful dinner.
Ouarzazate to Marrakech
Ait Ben Haddou - Start the day with a delicious breakfast before exploring Ouarzazate, including the Kasbah of Taourirt and the famous Atlas Studios, the largest and most renowned movie studios in Africa. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, arriving in time for lunch. Here, visitors can explore the iconic Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site featured in films like The Gladiator, Babel, and Lawrence of Arabia.
Marrakech - Cross the High Atlas and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, traveling a road that climbs from the plains to 2260m above sea level. The journey passes through charming villages, scenic waterfalls, and a landscape that unfolds in a vibrant array of colors against the backdrop of stunning mountains. As the day ends, return to the hotel or riad in Marrakech.
