The tour departs from the cruise terminal in the direction of Savoca (approximately 40 minutes by road). Savoca is the town where the film The Godfather was filmed. We will see all the most iconic places such as the Vitelli bar and the cathedral where Michael Corleone got married. After about an hour we leave to go to Castelmola (about 30 minutes from Savoca). Castelmola is a small village on the top of Taormina with a wonderful view of Mount Etna. After about an hour we move to Taormina, one of the most beautiful cities in Italy, reachable only on foot and full of shops and restaurants. After about 2 or 3 hours we return to Messina, but not before a nice panoramic tour of Isola Bella. As a last stop, we will visit the Sanctuary of Christ the King, a panoramic point over the Strait of Messina, and the Duomo cathedral, where you can admire the largest astronomical clock in Europe. The timetable is designed to make the most of your time in Sicily and to be perfectly on time with the cruise ship.

Perfect day trip from Messina - Pari was an amazing guide who easily provided details on SICILY’s history with some fun stops she and Alberto made the day easy for our group! Highly recommend!

Book this one - you will love it! - If you’re reading this and looking for something to do in Sicily/near Messina - look no further. This is the one. We had the best day on this excursion!! Our driver took the time to contact us before the trip to confirm the meeting time and location. They were there and ready when we got to the meeting point, and were so friendly right off the bat - we knew we were going to have a good time. We got a great Sicilian history while on the road to Savoca, and spent some time there taking beautiful pictures before going to Taormina. We ate lunch (and gelato of course) and got to do a little shopping in Taormina before heading to Castelmola. Lunch was incredible - the best of our trip so far! We took more pictures in Castelmola, stopped in some shops, and had a delicious cannoli before heading back to Messina.
Cannot recommend this trip enough!!
Thank you both so much for such a memorable day! We had a lot of laughs and were very happy to experience a little bit of this part of the world 🇮🇹

Great private tour! - Hana and Fulvio were fantastic and made our day very easy and memorable. We saw everything we wanted to see and never felt rushed. The restaurant recommended was great and very reasonably priced.
Definitely would recommend this private tour instead of a crowded bus.

Fabulous family, fun! - We booked this tour and Marissa was our guide. The van was lovely, the driver was wonderful and of course Marissa was informative, fun, lovely and super terrific with the kids. We went to different cities in Sicily and had a wonderful day. We saw so many interesting sites, bars, Monuments and churches, and we had a ball. We cannot thank Marissa enough for sharing her knowledge and talent with us and we are very thankful we found this tour because it was perfect! Thank you so much for a wonderful wonderful day in Sicily. 10+++

What a great day with Hana & Fulvio in Sicily!! - Definitely do this tour!! 1st and foremost, if you can, have Hana as your tour guide and Fulvio for your driver-- They were AMAZING!!! Seeing the Bar Vitelli and the St Lucia's church from the Godfather was awesome...let alone the amazing view from way up in Savoca! Even took the lil "taxi" tuktuk up to the church!! Castelmola was beautiful-- ruined castle, beautiful streets and all the great views -- as well as Mt Etna in the background!! Hana & Fulvio surprised us with a cannoli and shot of delicious almond wine at a very fun cafe in Castelmola called Turrisi (look it up! It will surprise you!) Taormina was fabulous too! Had a great lunch at Mamma Rosa, saw a few more churches and shopped- including at a great chocolate store called Ninos & Friends. Then back in Messina Hana & Fulvio gave us a tour of the cathedral and the really cool astrological clock. It was a fun, beautiful and very informative day spent with old friends and new ones, Hana & Fulvio!! Thank you!!!

First Class Tour with plenty of time to enjoy Sicily. - We had a beautiful and customized experience with Alberto and our guide Farla. We were able to see the most beautiful sights of Sicily and the surrounding area. Everything from the beginning was first class service with an on-time pick up straight from the Disney cruise line. The communication was very good via whatsapp. We saw the beautiful town of Savoca where the “God Father” was filmed, both the church & the bar. Then off to more beautiful views until with arrived to Taormino. Beautiful & charming town with much food and drinks to enjoy. The van was extremely comfortable and clean with plenty of bottle of water for our party of six people. Alberto offered one final stop for an amazing cannoli… most delicious. Our 6-7 hour tour came to the end at the cruise terminal with a short walk to get back on board. Very convenient and a very good value for all the time we received with a great guides. Highly recommend, 10 out of 10.
One day, we will be back to spend more time in this beautiful region of Italy. 🇮🇹 ❤️

Rainy day in Sicily is better than a rainy day at work! - This tour was amazing despite the rain!! We were met promptly by Marisa (our guide) at the cruise port entrance. Salvatore (our driver) was waiting for us at the vehicle. Marisa offered us rain ponchos but we had our rain jackets and an umbrella with us. We started off by going to Savoca - the fog was starting to set in as well as the rain. The church was unfortunately closed but was still cool to hike up to it to get pictures. We grabbed coffee at the coffee shop to warm up at the end and headed to Taormina next. Marisa explained the sights and other things as we drove along. Taormina was beautiful - also very busy! We walked to the amphitheater first and we decided to pay the extra to go inside. We then walked along Corso Umberto as Marisa pointed out things such as the famous Dior store/alleyway. Once we got to the balcony area and talked about a meeting point we had about 1.5hrs of free time. We decided to use that time to shop a bit and eat! We chose a cute little Italian restaurant down an alleyway called Gambero Rosso - it was the BEST lasagna I've ever eaten in my life! We followed this meal up with gelato of course!! Finally we went to Castelmora which was a quaint little town where we tried the original cannoli and almond wine - both delicious!! Although we were soaked and chilled to the bone it was a great private tour with Marisa! We had a lot of fun!! Thanks for a great excursion - 5 stars!!

The most amazing day! - Asena was wonderful and very excited to share her knowledge with us.
Our tours of Castelmola and Taormina were amazing! She shared some of her favorite places for authentic Sicilian treats.
We had the most amazing day!

Best Tour - Today we did a private tour with Alberto and Diamond and I was thrilled so relaxed always felt safe and they always checked in. I found this experience so much better than excursions organised by the cruise. Alberto and Diamond were so knowledgeable and generous with their time. I can’t recommend them enough!
