Tbilisi- Enguri Dam - Mestia

Mestia - Tbilisi-Enguri Dam: The journey begins with a meeting at the hotel, followed by a drive to Svaneti. After a 4-hour drive, there will be a stop at the Enguri Dam, one of the tallest arch dams globally, standing at 271.5 meters. The trip continues to Upper Svaneti, a remarkable mountain landscape featuring well-preserved villages with unique defensive tower houses, and examples of medieval ecclesiastical architecture and art. Visitors will explore the Museum of History and Ethnography and the Svanetian Architectural Museum in Mestia, and enjoy a stroll through the narrow streets, visiting quaint cafes and local souvenir shops.

Mestia-Ushguli - Mestia

Ushguli - After a delightful breakfast at a local guesthouse, the journey proceeds to Ushguli, situated at the base of Mount Shkhara and where the Enguri and Kvishiri rivers meet. As the highest permanent settlement in Europe (2200 m), Ushguli offers a stunning blend of mountainous scenery and medieval towers and churches. Visitors will explore the Ushguli Ethnographic Museum, housed in a 12th-century Svanetian tower-house, and visit the medieval Lamaria Church (dedicated to the Assumption of the Mother of God). An optional hike to the Shkhara glacier is available, with an 8 km one-way path that is easy to follow along the Enguri River towards Shkhara peak.

Mestia-Koruldi Lakes-Mestia

Mestia- Mazeri – Ushba Waterfalls-Mazeri-Mestia

Mestia - The morning begins with a drive to Mazeri village from Mestia (40 minutes), where the hike starts from Grand Hotel Ushba, crossing the bridge over the Dolra River to the left of the hotel. The trail passes mineral water springs, a charming church in a picturesque setting, beautiful meadows, and ascends gently through scenic pine forests until reaching the border post, where the final ascent begins. The 7 km journey takes approximately 3-4 hours one way. Afterward, the return trip to Mestia takes place.

Mestia- Chalaadi Glacier – Tbilisi

Tbilisi - Following a refreshing breakfast and morning drinks, the journey continues to the Chalaadi glacier. The route follows the Mestiachala River upstream, reaching the destination after 1.5 km, where the river originates. The trip concludes with a return to Tbilisi.

• Hiking Season:
• Best period for a hike in Georgia is the period of May-October. We operate this tour for the whole year, but in winter due to weather restrictions tour agenda may be slightly changed by us. Svaneti has plenty of hiking routes and it is possible to extend the tour into a long hiking trip. On your wish, you also can try a horse-riding with an experienced guide.
• This holiday involves a considerable amount of walking and may not be suitable for those with walking difficulties.
