Trekking is highly recommended for nature enthusiasts who wish to explore the Etna Park in a more personal and intimate way. Our guides will lead you to uncover the less touristy spots and the most captivating views of this UNESCO World Heritage volcano. You’ll find that Etna is more than just lava and eruptions. Walking through this area will be a treat for your senses: the sight, with its magnificent vistas; the smell, with the aromas of forests and native plants; and the sound, with the noise of footsteps or the rumble of eruptions, if the volcano is active. Choose from half-day itineraries (suitable for those in good health) or full-day itineraries (for experts only).
IMPORTANT NOTES: Our meeting point is in Trecastagni at MontataGrande, accessible by car.
Pick-up from Catania or other locations can be arranged.

Etna and the Gorges of Ancatara - After 10 years from the first fantastic experience with Etna Excursion where we met Paolo great professional and expert, this year we repeated the experience by adding a visit to the Gorges Dell’alcantara, Paolo had promised us a guide to ‘height and has not denied, we met Francesco, you see immediately when a person is passionate about his work, you see all the love and respect he has towards the Mountain in this case as they say Mother Etna, in his face you can see just the enthusiasm and desire to make you know and to make you appreciate in those few hours that you spend all the beauty of ‘Etna and its surroundings, as well as the Gorges Dell’Accantara, I highly recommend everyone to try this unforgettable and unique experience.

Personnalised trek on Etna for experienced walkers - We are two experienced walkers who were looking after some trek on the Etna which would be a minimum physically demanding, even though the summit was not accessible in this period of the year because of snow. Etna Excursion did a wonderful job at devising us a personalised full-day trek, even though only half-day treks are normally proposed this period of the year. Our guide, Alessio, was the best one we could have had. He knows Etna by heart and knows a lot about volcanoes in general - we could learn a lot with his explanations. He speaks really good English and doing the hike with him was a really pleasant experience. He is a young dynamic and passionate expert in Etna. He came to pick us up at our apartment at 8 a.m. and brought us back at 6:30 p.m. Everything felt easy and very well organised. Grazie mille!!!

Amazing hike in the snow - We went on the halfday hike in december. We were lucky enough that it snowed recently. The hike was absolutely amazing
Even without the snow we are sure we would have enjoyed our hike. Alessio was extremely friendly, gave interesting information about 'mama etna' and was an amazing guide.
The tasting afterwards is a nice way to finish. We highly recommend this tour

Organized, prepared and welcoming - Great experience! Even though the weather changed a few hours into the tour, our guide didn't just tell us "we probably couldn't go up to the summit craters" but suggested lots of alternative routes and visits, making us have an unforgettable day.
At the end tasting of local sauces, creams and liqueurs, a delight!

An experience absolutely not to be missed!!! - A fabulous experience!
You will see breathtaking landscapes and enjoy explanations and stories thanks to the guide who will accompany you. Our guide, Mimmo, made us fall in love with Etna, telling us little-known details and answering our curiosities, he was able to put us at ease despite the adverse weather conditions.
The tasting at the end of the experience was superlative, so much so that it convinced us to literally empty our wallets to buy all the delights on offer.

Inside the soul of Etna - Friendly and very knowledgeable staff; nice group and very nice structure. Our guide, Mimmo, was able to accompany us throughout the journey: with a surprising wealth of knowledge and
historical, geological, mythological, botanical curiosities, led us to admire the wonderful views of the Valle del Bove and the Silvestri Craters and - figuratively - inside Etna, its heart, its essence. Without skimping on conversations, at a slow and patient pace, about good music, good cinema, good literature, we chose our pace and were able to count on a wise and respectful knowledge of a truly extreme place in its beauty.
Trekking suitable for all tastes.

Etna trekking with Fabio meteorologist - I did this tour accompanied by Fabio, known as Fabio meteo, he is really very nice, he knows Etna and its paths very well.

NO ONE WILL GIVE YOU AS MUCH AS WE CAN PROMISE! - A common tourist trap and a huge disappointment. The company advertises a trip to the crater, which is also the ONLY reason to buy the guide's services. If you want to trek to Etna, guys, buy a return bus ticket in Catania for 6€, a cable car ticket for 50€, and you can climb up and down Etna all day. A guide only makes sense if you want to get up to the crater, where climbing on your own is forbidden. This was also the reason I bought the services of this company.
The only decent and good person is the driver, who told us in the morning that we were not allowed to go to the crater because of the weather conditions and that we would therefore just go for a hike halfway up Etna. Of course I didn't want to do that, I wasn't going to give 200€ for that and I wanted a refund.
"What's the difference between going free myself and going halfway up Etna with your company? Where is the added value?"
"Well... we take a different route through a stand of dwarf trees..."
And that's the difference? That's all of it? For €100? A hundred euros? A hundred euros for a different route halfway up Mount Etna?!
Of course, there was no refund and my girlfriend and I were so disgusted that we wanted nothing to do with the company and just wanted to go our own way. Our trust was irrevocably gone.
So I told the driver to take us to Refugio Sapienza, that we'd buy a cable car ticket there ON OUR OWN, climb part of Etna and he'd wait for us and drive us back to Catania.
Yes!
We got the most expensive ride from Etna to Catania for the price of two round trip fly tickets Prague - Catania.
Careful, guys.
There is no ascent to the crater! It's a hike up half of Mount Etna, which you can do on your own and completely free of charge.
I wouldn't do anything else with this company even if it was my mother's dying wish.
Never, niemals, jamais, mai.
One single company and it can ruin your whole vacation.
