• Mount Etna - Starting from the meeting point, the group will take the new Etna cable car to ascend to 2500 meters above sea level. From there, the journey continues with specialized 4×4 buses to reach an altitude of 2900 meters. The trek will commence here, allowing participants to traverse a lunar-like landscape, featuring recent lava flows from the winter and spring of 2023. The path leads to the site of the small explosive cone from the 1971 eruption, which was buried under the 2021 lava flows. The adventure will then proceed towards the main crater of Mount Etna.

From this vantage point, the breathtaking view of Europe’s highest volcano can be enjoyed, offering a glimpse into the depths of the central crater. The trek will continue along a crater terrace to view the Bocca Nuova crater, which currently contains two new craters: the Southeast Crater and the Northeast Crater.
