Outstanding Tour and Phenomenal Tour Guide - The Capri Tour with Blue Grotto access was amazing! Unfortunately, the Blue Grotto was closed due to sea conditions. But the added island boat tour in place of the Blue Grotto experience was breathtaking. Our tour guide was Nello and we can’t say enough great things about him!!! He was funny, courteous, knowledgeable and looked out for everyone in our group. If he makes suggestions, by all means listen and follow his suggestions. The chair lift is a must do and the free time to explore is plentiful. Highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Sorrento!!

Great way to visit Capri - My husband and I book this trlp after our hotel in Sorrento recommended This company. Everything about the boat ride/ tour with Federico as our captain was great. The group we traveled with was friendly and pleasant and Capri is so beautiful. Our ride picked us up on time. The only negative was that the drop off point was about 1/4 mile walk from the elevator down to the pier. This was not an easy walk. The street was busy, narrow and winding. Was not mentioned in ad but not good for anyone with a mobility issue. Once downstairs at the pier it took at least half an hour for eveyone to get checked in and then divided into groups. Once with our smaller group and on our way it was smooth sailing!

A Great Experience - We arranged this tour through our AIRBNB host and we were not disappointed. A very pleasant boat ride to Capri, a few hours exploring the Island and then a boat tour around Capri Island exploring the many grottos. We were in a group of 12 and loved the small boat experience. Highly recommend Travel Etc.

Capri Island from Sorrento - At the beginning we wanted to go to Capri by a ferry, but the price for two return tickets was almost the same as the price of this tour, so we decided to give it a chance. The driver came to pick us up at the hotel and brought us to the port, where we signed a contract, registered ourselves and paid a city tax for Capri (whcih is not included into the tour price, but you will have to pay it anyway). Our boat was for 12 people, and it was very clean and comfortable. It was felt like going on your private boat with a group of friends. We arrived to Capri and had about 5 hours to visit the island on our own. We had enough time to see some of the places easily reachable on foot. At 2 pm the boat came to take us from the port and we had a ride around the island to see some grottos, because the boat was small we could come very close to the rocks and too see better the water and corals. The food is not included, but it is not a big problem, because it is definitely better to go on a small boat like this then on a big ferry with 100 people.

This is a very good trip and... -
This is a very good trip and deserves a great review. I hope this review gives others the confidence to see Capri via this perfect little tour.

Firstly, this method of getting to and from Capri is amazingly good value for money when compared to either the cost of the ferry or hydrofoil. And, you get to travel much more exclusively - with just a small number of others on a private boat. Throw in the fact that you'll receive a boat tour of the entire island and get to see all the grottos and navigate through the Faraglioni as well, what's not to love!

So, we were picked up in Sorrento at the agreed time and location via a small, modern minibus fitted with lap belts. We then had a short 10 minute ride to get us as close as possible to the small, beautiful harbour - with just a short walk, a lift ride down to the harbour and a further short walk to the checking-in office. From getting off the bus to getting on the boat was probably about 30 minutes all in.

We boarded our boat there were just 10 people in total on our boat, although the maximum is only 12 and commenced our boat ride across to Capri. Sitting aboard the boat while the captain navigated the sea felt really special - and far better than being on a large ferry or hydrofoil with 100's of others.

Once we arrive at the Capri harbour we were given a short briefing about finding our way around Capri and we then alighted with just short of 4 hours of free time to explore. For us personally, this was sufficient time to 'dip our toes' into Capri and get a feel for the island. If you really wanted to explore both main parts of the island you would need longer than this tour provides.

Our captain collected us promptly at 1:45pm from the allotted place in the Capri harbour and then began the next part of the tour. Our boat navigated around the entire island and although the boat was not able to enter the blue lagoon as you have to enter on much smaller boats we went into both the green and the coral grottos and navigated through the Faraglioni rocks to the sounds of Amore by Dean Martin. Having kissed my new bride under the arch of this beautiful rock, we were assured of ever lasting love!

We now set on our way back to the harbour - via seeing the natural fresh water spring falling through the rocks into the sea - and our tour was complete

All in all, I think from start to finish the total trip was approximately 8 hours from pick up to drop off.

This was a brilliant tour choice. The tour company was very professional and we received excellent communications from both Viator and the tour company from the moment we booked. The coach and boat seemed modern and in superb condition and all the staff involved throughout each element coach driver, the staff who escorted from and then back to the coach, the checking in staff and the captain were friendly and helpful and looked after us throughout.

As stated in my introduction, this was also exceptional value for money and I cannot recommend this tour more highly.

Pros:
Took all the hard work... -
Pros:
Took all the hard work out of arranging our own excursion.
Collected us in a minibus outside our hotel and took us to the boat.
Plenty of space on boat.
Gave suggestions about what to do on the island we went on the chairlift in Anacapri which I recommend, then took the funicular from Capri town to the port.
Nice captain, expertly navigated around Capri and positioned the boat well for photo opportunities.

Cons:
Okay if you want to very briefly see Capri, but there is a lot to see there. The public transport has long queues, so you need to allow a lot of time unless you pay for a private taxi legally they must all charge a flat rate of 25-ish Euros for a ride. You need longer on the island if you really want to feel like you've 'done' Capri. We didn't eat during the tour, and definitely would have been pressed for time if we wanted to do the activities and have a relaxed lunch.

Note: The boat itself cannot go into the Blue Grotto. You have to pay for a separate tour to take you right into the grotto in smaller boats. You do have the option to pay for this add-on through a third party company while touring around the island, but our captain strongly advised against it because there are long queues. Just be aware the green/white grottos that the boat does visit are not cave systems, just patches of coloured water in the ocean. No one has to pay a fee to see them. They are not as impressive as the blue grotto.

Beautiful scenery, boat very basic - This tour was a very interesting thing to do. The tour team were helpful and accommodating. My husband and I did leave the group of 30 on the island because we prefer to research in advance and follow our own agenda. It worked out fine to rejoin the group for the circumnavigation of the island and its amazing geography and geology. Not to be missed. The boat was very basic, mostly open. If trying to sit in shade on a 90 degree plus day, you're forced to look through unclear salt damaged windows. Our boat did NOT resemble the one this picture. Would have paid more for better boat.

Poorly organized and unaccomodating, likely fake reviews - We booked a 4 person tour of Capri by boat with my wife and our parents. TL;DR - The trip was poorly organized (they left us behind after dropoff) and they refused a refund when my father in-law was sick even after they sold his sport to another ground. Full version: We enjoyed the natural beauty of the Capri Isle well enough and the captain was great. My biggest problem is with Travel Etc the company itself and how they handled the organization and their conduct with customers. 1) Don't expect any flexibility on your booking even if they end up selling your spot. We booked 4 spots on a 12 person boat tour. My father in-law became ill the morning of and we ended up being 3 people on the tour. We requested a refund but completely understood when they said they had already booked his spot on the boat and had to turn other customers away, so no refund was possible. That was fine with us. You can imagine our surprise when we found out our boat would have 9 other people onboard making it 12 people or the maximum allowed. They clearly was able to sell his spot last minute and receive compensation for the lost revenue. 2). The trip was poorly organized. After getting off at Piano Sorrento ( beware the trip does not depart from Sorrento ad advertised another warning sign of questionable business practice) there was no one to direct the group we ended up wandering around and having to call the main office to figure out where to go. They lost track of other passengers as well. 3). Expect a 2 hour wait for the bus pickup. In order to safe money on the buses they pack hem full to the brim before taking off. We waited almost 2 hours before the bus left for. 15 min drive back to Sorrento. I would not recommend anyone from booking through Travel Etc. The area is beautiful and your much much better off going with a smaller your operator. I have a feeling a lot of the 5 star reviews here are fake as we saw several other groups having similar issues with other tours that this company runs after. Justin
