A 360-degree emotion - An exciting 360-degree experience! The guide Marianna prepared, transmitted with his enthusiasm the beauty of the place, used in various ways during the centuries. It was very moving the part related to the memory of the people who were refugees there during the Second World War. Fun to discover the Neapolitan sayings related to the figures who descended into these water tanks. In a nutshell if you are in Naples a visit to the Bourbon gallery is highly recommended!

The Bourbon Tunnel in Napoli - This was another highlight during our visit of Naples. It's not to be missed if you're a WWII buff, or have any personal connections to this era. We purchased the standard tour (there are 3) which starts at the entrance of Vico del Grottone. It's close to the Piazza del Plebiscito. There are timed entries. We just happened to get there just before the guided English tour at 11:00am. The timing was perfect. I would rethink this one if you have mobility or night vision issues. The very first thing you'll do is walk down a very high, narrow, and dimly lit stairway with pumice walls surrounding you. I'm pretty sure our tunnel guide said it was 90 steps down. The good news is that you won't have to climb up at the end. You'll exit out into a covered parking area along Via Monte de Dio. Our guide was so passionate & knowledgeable. I think his name was David. He also made sure that every question was answered. It's quite a long & rocky history of why the King had it built, and the obstacles they had building around the aqueducts and holding tanks. The vision was never fully realized after the fall of the Bourbon monarchy. It was abandoned until WWII when it was used as a shelter from bombs. It's an incredible story, and you can see how the residents of Naples lived under the brutal conditions of war. Some lived there longer because they had nowhere else to live after houses were destroyed. We were very impressed with how well the tunnels were restored, and hearing about how all these secrets (artifacts) were uncovered. It had been hiding under Naples all these years until being rediscovered some time in 2005. I don't think it even opened to the public until 2010. It was a very memorable & unique experience. Very much worth the small admission fee. Definitely seek it out if you are in Naples. It only takes an hour, and it's well worth the time.

City open to the whole world - Exceptional city, unique in its kind. Three days is not enough to really get to know her well. The gallery is an experience not to be missed.

Inevitable stage - Beautiful and interesting experience to do even with children. Apart from the entrance with 90 steps, the rest is also suitable for claustrophobic because the rooms are very large. The guide, a guy prepared but who was able to lighten the story with his sympathy. To do also the other routes.

Beautiful visit - We visited the Bourbon gallery yesterday, June 1, 2025, 2 adults and 2 children (4 and 7 years). Very feasible route with children. Our guide Maria nothing short of spectacular, involved and interested young and old with her beautiful, clear and simple explanation! The route takes about 1 hour and 15 but it is really worth it. Thanks to Teacher Maria as my little Maria of 4 years called her

Experience not to be missed! - Beautiful tour especially if accompanied by an excellent guide : Lucrezia! He explained everything and made us fall into an atmosphere of yesteryear! The tour is worth more than Naples underground both in content and duration. To do absolutely!

A unique experience! - Fascinating place and with a history that does not leave indifferent... certainly with a guide like Marianna you will also stay a whole day listening... you go from the wonder of the work that was created to the emotion seeing and thinking of the people who found refuge there to the bombings of the Second World War; the simulation with the siren that sounded to warn of the bombings was "thrilling"... to the stories that lead to the discovery of Neapolitan sayings! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Really Nice Tour in a Cool Environment - The tour guides are genuinely passionate about their work and do a wonderful job. The tour was very good, and my 12 and 17 year olds said it was their favorite tour so far. It was nice to get away from the bustling city for an hour and a half, and into the cool underground. I was a little disappointed to not get as close to the water as the photos on TripAdvisor would suggest, though. There is a room at the end of the tour that appears to be a place you can rent out for formal parties and events, so maybe that's where the brightly colored photos came from. Overall, I would recommend this tour to anyone. Note: You need to be able to descend 90 steps to get to the tour starting place. After that, there are steps here and there, but nothing more than a floor or two. The exit is on the opposite side of the hill, at ground level, so there's no need to climb back up.
