An exceptional day with Dr. Pina Esposito in Naples. - My husband and I enjoyed an informative and educational Naples City Day Tour with Dr. Pina Esposito, PhD Greco-Roman archaeologist/ art historian, licensed tour guide, and a native of Naples. This was part driving tour, part walking tour. We were picked up in Sorrento by her private driver and taken to Naples where we met Dr. Esposito and spent the whole day, first at the Naples Archeological Museum where she explained the amazing restored art objects in great detail, giving us a greater understanding than if we had tried to navigate on our own. She also procured special tickets allowing us entry into certain exhibit rooms. After the museum tour we walked around many special areas of Naples, as she knows the city so well. It was an experience we will always remember. At the end of the day her driver drove us back to our hotel.

Great Tour of Napoli! - Pina was an unbelievable tour guide! The tour of the Napoli Archeological Museum was phenomenal and gave us such a great insight for our tour of Pompeii the next day! Plus, the walking tour of Napoli itself and the explanation of the history of the city was so interesting and detailed. I would highly recommend anyone who goes to Naples to enlist Pina as your guide!

Perfect Naples Private Tour Guide - We found Pina as a recommended Naples tour guide in Rick Steves book on Italy. From the outset Pina was very easy to communicate with by email. Her correspondence was both timely and comprehensive. We described our interests and time frame (two full days in Naples), and she gave us detailed options.
The two days we spent with Pina in and around Naples were wonderful. She is a local, and a proud graduate of the University of Naples. She knows the city and environs intimately, and she has an encyclopedic knowledge of the history, including the very interesting geological history, of the region. With Pina’s guidance we filled the two days with sights and sounds and tastes that we would not have gotten to, and in some cases would not have even known to ask about. At one historical site in the Phlegrean Fields, an area I would not have known about but for Pina, I took picture that is the first picture from this trip that was worthy of printing and framing. This is not a comment on my meagre photography skills, but on the quality of the places Pina shared with us.
One of the advantages for us of having a private guide is absolute flexibility, and here we got to benefit from the fact that in addition to having so much knowledge about her city’s history that she loves to share, Pina had excellent knowledge of where to get espresso and gelato. When I expressed a need for a shot of espresso, Pina quickly responded by diverting us to a delightful and historic coffee place, unlike any I’ve seen, with excellent espresso, and where we were also able to find some non-touristy gifts for people back home. And when I also said I needed gelato, Pina took us to a place with the best pistachio gelato I’ve ever had (and this was our fifth trip to Italy). (I am not naming these or other places Pina took us to in this review, because my goal here is to explain why you should consider engaging Pina’s services, not to give away her secrets!)

Mama Mia! - Mama Mia! What a wealth of knowledge and energy with our guide Dr Pina Esposito. Not only did she take us on a 7 hour tour of Old Naples and the Archeological museum but also a 7 hour day of Pompeii and Herculaneum. We really didn’t know what to expect with Rick Steves mentioning her in his guidebook but he has definitely shared the best of the best! Her sense of humor was contagious as well and she didn’t shy away from any subject asked of her. How grand! Have you ever met someone who felt like your good friend forever?! We felt we had met just such a person and wished we could have taken her with us on the rest of our southern Italy vacation, however, instead we must say Grazie Dr Pina Esposito.

Fantastic Experience with a Highly Knowledgeable, Warm and Hard Working Guide - My wife and I are world travelers. Among all of the private guides that we have worked with, Pina was the best. Not only did she take us on a terrific tour of Naples herself, but she worked hard to arrange tours of the area for us with a highly knowledgeable colleague on the days she was unavailable. She was wonderful, highly knowledgeable and her fluency in English was great. Perhaps this is the reason why Rick Steves, the famous American travel writer, singled her out in his travel guide as the go to private travel guide in Naples, Pompeii, Capri, etc., etc. She maintains a busy schedule so I suggest you book her early if you are planning a trip to the area. Pina ecorted me on a tour of Naples City to include but not linited to, the Reggio Di Napoli, and Museo Archeologico and the next day we toured the archeological sites of Villa Olpantis, Pompeii and Herculeneum. It was an amazing experience. Her depth of knowledge and way of presenting the history (in perfect English) was so very special. I cannot wait to return to Napoli and hire Pina for more tours of the region. She is a National Treasure of Italia!
