Neapolitan Pizza originated in the 1600s and evolved with the addition of tomatoes and mozzarella, creating the beloved classic we know today. In 1889, the Margherita Pizza was named by Neapolitan Pizza chef Raffaele Esposito in honor of Queen Margherita.
