Simply the best! - A wonderful tour. It may seem expensive, but Leila was happy to spend as much time as with us as we wished. We spent several hours absorbed in the incredible murals at different locations, but especially at the mural museum which is the old Education building. We have been before but Leila bought every mural (and there are many!) to life with explanations of the political and cultural ideas being communicated by Rivera. In our opinion this is the number one thing to do in Mexico City. Leila was an absolute pleasure to spend time with and we have already recommended her to other friends who are coming to Mexico City

The magical murals of Mexico City - The tour gave a comprehensive overview of mural artists in Mexico, especially Diego Rivera’s work. Our guide, David, shared a wealth of information and was so eager and patient in answering our questions. He went out of his way to make the tour interesting and timely. His insights and knowledge of art provided an excellent context for these masterpieces. All of us came away with a much better understanding of muralists in Mexico and how significant their work still is today. Do not miss this experience. And by all means, request David as your guide!

A day in Diego Riveras honor - Look no further for your guided tour of Diiego Rivers’s murals. We had the most amazing guide Leila. She has extensive knowledge of Diego Rivers’s artist life and understanding of his murals. She also knows her City well and Mexicos history, all very interesting. As a special treat she took us to Pastelaria Ideal - a must visit

Rivera Murals Tour with Laila - We absolutely loved this tour. Laila was passionate and deeply knowledgeable — her interpretation of Diego Rivera’s murals, full of historical context and vivid detail, made the works come alive. Her enthusiasm was infectious; we left feeling enriched, fascinated by Mexican history and culture, and big fans of Rivera’s work. Can’t recommend it enough!

A Must Do Tour to Truly Appreciate Mexican Art History - The Diego Rivera Murals and Hidden Treasures excursion far exceeded my expectations mainly because of our highly knowledgeable and spirited guide Laila. Looking at Diego Rivera’s murals are impressive in and of themselves, but the histories and significances pointed out by Laila delivered a much more meaningful experience. I have seen other Diego Rivera works and collections. After this particular excursion, however, much of them now are woven together in a way that has completely enriched what I have learned about the life and art of Diego Rivera

Don’t miss this!! - After finding Pies Descalzos through a Google search, I met Laila, the company’s owner. Laila was immediately so enthusiastic, detail oriented, and thoughtful about planning our tour. A friend and I wanted a better understanding of art in Mexico City through the lens of history, politics and culture. Laila delivered a 2.5 day itinerary set up chronologically: we began at Teotihuacan, traveled through the Zocalo to Templo Mayor, The Palacio National, and Bellas Artes. We concluded in Coyoacán with Casa Pedgregal and Casa Azul. Our tour guide, David, was absolutely incredible. He possesses a stunning amount of knowledge about Pre-Hispanic, 18th century, and modern day Mexico. His storytelling weaved art, architecture, natural sciences, politics, history, religion and the perfect touch of gossip. David possesses a natural and contagious passion for his city - seeing and understand Mexico City through his lens made the difference between the average tour and a truly special experience. I’ve tried, but I couldn’t say enough good things about my expedience with David, Laila and Pies Descalzos.
