Monumento y Museo de la Revolución - The Monument to the Revolution is a prominent urban landmark that was initially intended to be the center of a Legislative Palace but was later transformed into a Mausoleum.

Explanation and time for photos. Total time: 10 minutes.

Alameda Central - We will visit Alameda Central Park, a unique and beautiful historical park that serves as a gathering place in the city.

Here, we will also visit El Quemadero de la Inquisición. You will learn about the customs and practices during the Inquisition era. Explanation and time for photos.

Total time: 20 minutes.

Hemiciclo a Juárez - A tribute to one of the most beloved former presidents of the country, declared Meritorious of the Americas, who left a significant historical impact on 19th-century Mexican history.

Explanation and time for photos. Total time: 5 minutes.

Palacio de Bellas Artes - A fantastic example of Mexican architecture where Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles blend, creating a majestic space for theater, ballet, symphony, opera, murals, and more.

Explanation from the outside and time for photos. Total time: 25 minutes.

House of Tiles (Casa de los Azulejos) - The tour begins in the Historic Center of Mexico City (a UNESCO World Heritage site) with the beautiful Viceregal Palace known as La Casa de Los Azulejos on the famous Calle (Pasaje) Madero.

You will explore its interior, and it is also a recommended and clean place to use the restrooms.

Learn about its history and the owners from the 16th century to the present day.

Total time for explanation, photos, and restroom use: 25 minutes.

Palacio Postal - The Post Office. A luxurious French-style neoclassical building from the early 20th century. You will see its interior with beautiful and fine finishes in marble, brass, and bronze.

Explanation and time for photos. Total time: 15 minutes.

Palacio de Minería - The Mining Palace. A majestic New Hispanic classical building that:

a) Houses an exhibition of four meteorites for your admiration and photography.

b) Features the Plaza de Minería in front, with its beautiful statue of the Little Horse created by the famous architect and sculptor Manuel Tolsá.

Tacuba - We will walk through the historic streets of Tacuba and Brazil, highlighting the architectural styles of mansions, palaces, and churches from the 16th to the 19th centuries, which contributed to UNESCO declaring our beautiful Historic Center a Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Plaza de Santo Domingo - We will stop at the interesting Plaza de Santo Domingo with its beautiful baroque church of the same name.

Explanation and free time for photos. Total time: 25 minutes.

Zócalo - Overview and explanations of the Plaza de la Constitución (the Zócalo) and the Government Palace.
Centro Histórico - Panoramic views and explanations of the Archaeological Zone of the Aztec Templo Mayor.
Catedral Metropolitana de la Ciudad de México - Exterior explanation of the Metropolitan Cathedral, its history, anecdotes, and free time to enjoy its interior.

Great tour - We had a great experience with Jorge, who is very knowledgeable about Mexico City history and enthusiastic about sharing it. We saw a lot of places from some of most famous to some that may not be in guidebooks but are very interesting nonetheless. We saw and learned so much! Jorge shared many memorable historical anecdotes. Be prepared to walk a lot (comfortable shoes and clothes and hats for the sun are a must) and your 3 hour immersion into Mexico City history. Highly recommended.

Informative city tour - Did not realize Jorge the tour guide communicates thru What’s up , which I typically do not do. Been trying yo contact thru email as phone not available not until I called Viator. Took a while b4 we saw him. Thanks God he waited few more minutes - almost 20 min

Great experience and interesting history! - It was a private tour with just me and the tour guide (George). He took me all around the City showing me the highlights and giving a lot of backstory to each location. George was very passionate about history, his City and his job. One can tell that he really loves history and he loves his country of Mexico! He also gave time to take pictures at each of the locations and or utilize the restroom where they had them. Mexico City is so beautiful with so much history. One would need a lot more time to see an experience and learn everything. This was just a quick trip of a couple days, so I definitely have to come back another time. I will need to come back to see More of the city in greater detail! It was a good experience and helps you get the lay of the land. Especially if anyone is a history of like me and loves history you should find this tour interesting.

Jorge was a great guide.... - Jorge was a great guide. There's a lot of ground to cover, both literally and figuratively, and he did a great job of keeping the conversation moving by connecting some of the key players in the history of the Mexican Republic to the architecture, monuments, and streetscape. I'd say this is an excellent early-days survey of the historic center that will help you understand where you want to return to later for a more in-depth look. For those of us only in town for a couple of days, it was the perfect way to understand the 'greatest hits', and I look forward to circling back to a few of the places we saw when I return and have more time. He's friendly, knowledgable, and easy to hear over the roar of traffic and crowds. His background as an educator really comes through.
