A full and fulfilling day - Many thanks to Pamela, Dulce, and everyone at Aura Cocina Mexicana--what a great experience that, admittedly, I only attended because my wife wanted to do it. I can't say that I'll become a famous or even competent chef of even the simplest of Mexican dishes, but Pamela was very kind, energetic, and engaging in shepherding our diverse group through the history and making of some cultural staples. You will have some hands-on time, but you also have to really try hard to mess up anything. Plus, when you finish, you're very close to the market you visited earlier and can go back for any ingredients or treats.

Give yourself this gift, and carve a whole day out for it - Chef Pame, I don't have enough words to describe the way she wrapped us up and shared with us authentic Mexican cooking and culture. Everything was well thought out and the family of supporting staff were phenomenal. I could have stayed and talked with Pame for hours about the history of precolonial mexico, the evolution to the contemporary city and food as we know today. I can't recommend this experience enough. If you love to cook and try new things, do this class!!!

In a family meal, it's not just the food, but the togetherness that nourishes... - We did a private two-family cooking class with our families including two seven year old friends and it was our favourite meal of the trip. Chef Lorena and Assistant Luce were both fantastic at engaging the adults while involving the kids to be both informative, educational and experiential. More importantly it was fun and absolutely delicious. The kids were engaged for three hours and the grown ups were able to sit through a fantastic complete meal from "aperitif" to "petits fours" that we made ourselves (...with a lot of expert guidance and assistance...). Absolutely a gem of an experience and would highly recommend for families. When I come back again with grown up friends would absolutely recommend as well :)

Viva la Cocina Mexicana - I highly recommend the Essence of Mexico cooking class and market tour provided by Aura Cocina Mexicana. It is an opportunity to learn about Mexican products and cooking techniques, and through cooking, to learn more about the Mexican people and culture. The food was delicious and the atmosphere welcoming and friendly. The professional Chefs give a class for people of all cooking skill levels.

5 Stars!! - We signed up for the cooking class on a whim, looking for something different from the tours and sightseeing we'd already scheduled. In short, the experience of the class including the visit to the local market stands out as one of the highlights of our vacation, and one that we talk about to all our family and friends when we recount the best of our trip to Mexico City. The setting for the class is charming and lovely decorated, and our group of 8 participants was eclectic and fun! But by far the element of the class that made it superlative was Mariana, our chef and facilitator - we can't say enough about how she walked us through the market, her explanations of the various foods and customs, and of course, her guidance during the hands-on cooking. She definitely set the tone for the class. We laughed together, we danced a little while we cooked, and we ate delicious food together. 5 stars for the class, and 5 stars for Mariana!!

Cooking class so much fun! - We so had much fun in Nitze’s cooking class! Just two families in a lovely kitchen studio that was comfortable, modern, and had everything we needed. The market tour was enjoyable - even the surprise taste testing! The dishes we created were so flavourful. All the way through Nitze was the perfect host - friendly, so informative, and easily managed a room full of curious visitors with widely varied cooking skills. What a great time - we thoroughly recommend Nitze!

Fun activity in Mexico City - It was a fun time. The best part for me was actually the market! When we finished cooking, the food was yummy and I will definitely be trying some of the recipes at home.
