- Xochimilco - Upon arrival at dawn, participants will enjoy a sunrise boat ride through the chinampas of Xochimilco, an ancient Mesoamerican agricultural method used by the Aztecs, known as ‘floating gardens’. Here, you will film locals harvesting crops and the stunning natural beauty of these historic waterways. Instruction will be given on setting your camera for sunrise and filming during the golden hour. The group will pause at a chinampa to film a garden and the ingredients that make it to the table, while enjoying atole, a traditional Mexican drink from pre-Columbian times, along with a snack and coffee or tea on the boat.
- La Paz Market - Upon returning to the center of Tlalpan, the group will head directly to the traditional La Paz Market with Dona Chelita for a hearty breakfast and filming session.
- Tlalpan Centro II - The filming tour continues at a private restaurant within walking distance of the market. Here, participants will learn how to navigate and work in a small kitchen with a camera, engaging with the chef to set up appealing table shots of food and drinks. Participants will have the opportunity to taste traditional Mexican food from Oaxaca while capturing various angles to understand what is visually appealing.
- Barra Alipús - After a fulfilling day of eating and filming, participants can relax with a mezcal tasting or mocktail during the debriefing session. Gregory will review the footage and provide tips and tricks for future improvement, helping participants take their new skills as a “foodie filmmaker” on all their travels and tours. A signed certificate from Gregory will also be awarded.
